in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

Hello, I just downloaded the 10 day Affinity Photo Trial and I plan to buy this program if I find it is better than the current editing software I am using. After editing a RAW file I tried to insert the photo into a word document (just a Christmas Newsletter to family and friends) but cannot do anything with it. It is saved as a jpg on my desktop but the file extension .afphoto was added and seems to prevent me from using the photo for anything. Please help.
