Editing a jpg, I used the selection tool on an object to select object outline. Then I inverted pixel selection, and hit "delete" to have just the object on a "transparent" (checkerboard) background. I exported the file back out to jpg
I then re-opened file to clean up object border a bit and used the "erase brush tool" to remove some spurious detail. It should be noted that "transparent background" was checked, though the "background" was showing as white. When I used erase brush, the strokes displayed as "transparent" (checkerboard) and when I exported / saved the changes, the edit strokes displayed in a jpeg viewer as black strokes.
The only remedy? deselecting "transparent background", then making the changes. Unfortunately, the background is no longer "transparent", though thankfully the use I needed it for was on a white background.
So, is this a bug, one-off issue, or is it pilot error of some kind?
Thanks
