Ntracks reacted to Chris B in Icon Style in Affinity Photo v2 + more...
    Hey fotomak,
They took me a while to get used to but now I cannot go back. There are currently no plans to change this or to implement a function to revert back to V1.

Is it only mine impression that the Icon Style in Affinity Photo v2 are not very readable...
If they are also to be "new" then it would be useful to have an option in the Preferences, to be able to change to the set of Icons from version 1 (like existing option to choose monochrome/colour Icons).
Additional very useful quick first summary from Olivio Sarikas here:

What's the definition of "work with" that doesn't include input, work and subsequent output?
To my thinking, and probably most others, seeing "work with" implies in, on and out.
If you're not able to export/output a format, you're not, to my thinking, working "with" that format, you're working with a converted version of that format that is no longer that format.

I'm afraid to say, but not being able to export dxf is a BIG let down for me...
...and i think also for you.
a lot more people would come on board D2,  with a proper implementation

Thanks for your report. Sorry this has not been properly picked up yet, we are lightly staffed at the moment. I'm sure this will be picked up at some point next week.

Hmm... I get the same results as Ntracks: a PDF that is heavily pixelated!
But the PDF looks fine if I rasterize the image in question before exporting the document to PDF.

I think they should do something to help make all three of the app's icons identify them more distinctly as Affinity products.
Maybe they could make the overall shape more like an "A", or... I don't know... a triangle perhaps, instead of a simple square?

Up for this. CNC/Lasercutting support will open doors to many professionals who use the standard.

We will add support for additional file formats over time and DXF is a good candidate.

    Many thanks,

Oooo....this would be a nice feature to have. .dxf is also the format used by water jetting and laser profiling machines. Could be useful.....

Could DXF export be added as a export option. I sometimes have have to send my designs to a CNC and vinyl cutting shop. There preferred format is DXF. It would be great not to have to import my design into cad program before sending it them. I currently use this feature in illustrator and it works nicely.

Would love to have DXF and DWG import and export. Using Onshape--very cool parametric 3D CAD cloud app. It now can import DXF and DWG. Would love to be able to export some of y logo designs to Onshape so I can model my logos in 3D and output them to my 3D printer.

First, Affinity Designer is beautiful and extremely efficient tool. I like it!

I am doing design and artwork for front panels / operating panels of electric devices and machines. The drawings are available in DXF and / or DWG from Autocad (trademark). What would really speed up my workflow is the option to *import* DXF or DWG files.

Considering that these files can carry very complex information it would be sufficient to be able import only a single layer file or a single layer of such a file. This contains all mechanical data so I can be sure that the artwork will match the target device.

    Adobe Illustrator has this feature.

Export of DXF / DWG files is actually not required for this kind of work.

Please Please Please. I love the Affinity applications but this is the one thing that has me frustrated.... I am an illustrator that uses architects plans to build from and the import of other formats isn't satisfactory.
    Thanks.

Ok - Rotation was the right word ;)

And useless is a bit hard - but it is much more comfortable to rotate the document, than your Wacom or your whole body around the table...

For drawing straight lines it is absolutely necessary

Please ad page spin! without it affinity designer is useless for wacom users!
    Thanks in advice.
