[Crashing when moving selection]

When I make a selection, press Q for quick mask and try to move the selection, I crash.

I rebooted, got another pic and tried it again. Same thing. Thanks for your help. Im on an Mac, 10.15.3

[AF View(s) problem]

I'm on an IMAC with, of course, the MAC version of AF

 

I discovered what I believe to be a problem while working with two views.

 

 

To begin,

I opened one raw file, and entered the Photo persona.

I then created a new view:   View --> new view

I then did:   Window --> Separated Mode

I then did:  Windows --> Merge All Windows

Now when I tried to re-separate the two windows I dragged one of the two windows  on to my desktop. Upon doing this, I'm left with the two separated windows PLUS a semi-transparent copy of the view that cannot be moved, deleted, worked with or anything . I essentially have to quit the program to get it to go away.

Now I had no reason to do this as I was just "playing around", but I do think you would want to be aware of what's happening.

When applying a gradient map adjustment, is there a way to make any of the stops transparent? The opacity setting applies only to the whole layer, where when a gradient is applied (with the gradient tool) and the individual stops are edited, opacity is possible for individual stops. Is this the way it is supposed to be? If so, fine. The gradient tool works great. Thanks.

Hi, I'm trying to get to a group of .icm color profiles I downloaded for my epson printer from a paper company I hope to deal with. I installed them by putting them in the ColorSync folder on my mac and they appear as expected in PS, but they do not show up in AF. Do I need to add them to some folder unique to AF? If not, what do I need to do to get at them? I see an "import icc profile" option under the file menu, but that will not work with an .icm file. They do appear in the soft proof adjustment layer.

I can paint black on the mask, I can't fill it with black, using the fill command.

I have a 32 bit HDR photo and I'm trying to fill a layer mask with black. I am unable to do it. If I convert the picture to 16 RGB all is fine. Now, I don't know if this is suppose to be this way or not, but, if not, then it doesn't work. At least for me.

I deleted the beta 11 program (which I have done in the past with no results), but this time I searched my whole disk for "affinity photo beta". Came up with and additional 82 files scattered all about and deleted them. Everything works fine now. I have those deleted files if in case you would like to look into what the problem might have been. Thanks for your assistance.

I'm on beta 11. I've always had this problem and have been surprised no one else is concerned about it. I guess it's something in my system. There is nothing on my imac that is not updated immediately. Any suggestions on how to attack this problem? Thanks.

Other than keyboard shortcuts, I can't get the "Enable save over imported PSD files", or any changes I made from customizing tools including the number of columns or the rearranging of panels (such as swapping the position of the layer and adjustments panels) to stick. I make the changes, close the program, open the program and they were all changed back to default(?) except the keyboard shortcuts. Is there a intermediary step I am missing?

Resizing the document doesn't calculate properly when the ratio is constrained for at least units in feet and inches.

 

[Saving preferences]

Apparently, in my case, at least, changed AP preferences, such as shortcut keys or customizing tools and even arranging the order of pallets in the studio, do not become sticky unless a preference is changed that demands a restart. This seems cumbersome, or am I missing something?

[Opening .dng file from within LR]

When I open a .dng file from lightroom via "edit in Affinity Photo Beta" (beta 4) I get nothing but a large checkerboard display with various colors, etc (i.e. a mess). When I open this same file from within AP via the OPEN command, it opens fine. It opens fine is photoshop from lightroom too.
