You can give some JPG repair tools a try ...
The best programs to recover damaged jpg files
... and see if those might help to identify the problems.

It's not something you would do, I was just noting that while it's easily possible to modify the contents of a file without changing a timestamp programmatically, that's not something an application would generally do. In other words, only a program designed for nefarious purposes would do that, to disguise that or when the file was changed and thus make it harder to find the culprit.
Since you apparently don't have viruses (and I've never heard of one designed to mess with your photos and nothing else) or malware, and we know the files were once in good condition on that computer, the corruption must have occurred on that computer. But how?
MalwareBytes has a free version. You might give that a try and see if it finds anything. Beyond that I'm at a loss.

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from Move Along People in About Type Sizes
I think it shoud work by default, wheter they accept my suggestion or not.

Petar Petrenko reacted to Alfred in About Type Sizes
It took me a moment or three to figure out that MU means “measurement units”, but the main point Petar is making is that the point sizes don’t include decimals and the millimetre sizes shouldn’t include them either.

Petar Petrenko reacted to firstdefence in Customise Toolbar - add 'export to PDF' option, and a general rant about the interface
The Export Persona isn't intuitive by a long shot and for a lot of people the File > Export... option is more than adequate but the More button and the following settings window really is superfluous and unnecessary. Reorganising the File > Export... window could easily fit the more settings on and in so doing would streamline File > Export... for a lot of people and make File Export... a lot more concise.

Petar Petrenko reacted to Jon P in Problems with RTF
Hi,
As Patrick has stated the file does eventually import, but not correctly. Our parser seems to be struggling with the makeup of the RTF file exported from Word. I've logged this for the developers to look into further.
Thanks!

Petar Petrenko reacted to SrPx in Need some clearance about INFO and TRANSFORM palettes
It's also in Photoshop. I've used that hundreds of times.
Sometimes for fast checks when working in some design that needed to be raster, while making textures, checking some diagonals in an illustration....Sometimes the eyes are fooled by visual compensation. Not a bad checker to have.
One of those things you don't need till you need them. And then they help in that moment...greatly.

Thanks for your report. Two members of staff are looking at this. It does eventually [ > 5 mins] import for us (the app becomes responsive with text in the frame), but the text is not imported correctly.

Hi Peter,
This isn't possible, as Chris_K mentions on this post.
I can get this moved over to the Feature Requests section or feel free to make a seperate post

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from adirusf in Equidistant TABs
Hi,
I saw this in InDesign and thought it might be a good idea to have it in Publisher, too.
Put the first TAB marker on desired position and by hitting "Repeat TAB" button the other TABs are created and distributed evenly. The number of TABs depends from the number of selected elements separated by TABs.
(Re)positioning the TABs could be done by:
slider moving the first TAB marker to the new position and pressing the "Repeat TAB" again, or by manually entering a number for better precision. The example in the attachment is from "The Non-Designer's InDesign Book" by Robin Williams

My first attempt at using Designer - and on an iPad. Very pleased with the results.

It sounds like your arguing about creative process, not features of tools. As a general rule I don't argue with people about their creative process because I find it to be rude.

Petar Petrenko reacted to fde101 in Elements on Master Page(s)
You can do this in the default "Edit Frame Content" mode.
Only if you locked it on every page, and I'm not sure why you would do that?
Then use Quark.

Petar Petrenko reacted to Sean P in No text frame support in Designer 1.7.0.258
Hi Grafkom,
As I've previously mentioned before the Text Frame Panel is not one of Designer's features so it won't be included.

Petar Petrenko reacted to Michael Hurley in Saving a 1-bit black & white graphic
I would like to add my voice to the requests for 1-bit support. I run the design / pre-press department of a printing company. We do spot-color offset and letterpress. I absolutely need 1-bit support for our workflow. Please, folks! This is a very important part of print production!
Thanks!

Petar Petrenko reacted to Aficionado in Saving a 1-bit black & white graphic
Hi everyone,
I'm mostly a newbie to vector editing, so I hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I've created a black and white vector graphic using Affinity Designer. The graphic will be incorporated into a printed book, and the printer needs it as a 600dpi 1-bit black and white file — I think a vector format is preferred.
My document resolution is already 600dpi, so that's covered, but I'm struggling to work out how to use Affinity's export options to save out my graphic as 1-bit. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gabi

Petar Petrenko reacted to walt.farrell in Inconsistent Shortcut Key Terminology (Page, Panel)
I just noticed that in the section of Miscellaneous Keyboard Shortcuts, the Studio panels are referred to variously as "panel" or "page". I think that a consistent term (I suggest panel) should be used for these. Here's a screenshot from Publisher (1.7.0.243) but this inconsistency also exists in the 1.6 and 1.7 versions of Photo and Designer, too.

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Color differences in all 5 Windows apps
Hi,
please, follow these steps to see the differences:
Open any Windows app (if you have Mac please try on them, too); Open this image and make a duplicate layer; Apply "Multiply" to the upper layer; Apply 15 px "Gausian Blur" and "Color Burn" inside "Color Overlay" from "Layer Effects" Repeat these steps to the other 4 apps.
What I got:
Designer and Photo (retail versions) have the same results; Designer and Photo (beta versions) have the same results but different from the retail ones; Publisher has different results from all other 4 apps.

On the start of page 12 of this topic, I offered some work arround about dealing with PDF files created from INDD files. It might be helpful.

If you don't like it, please use Quark instead.
Also, you may login to Adobe's forum and say to them: "I'm not going to use your apps because they don't have Affinity suite export/import files".

Petar Petrenko reacted to MikeW in Space between columns
Just because a usable feature is the same as in something else doesn't mean it is a clone.
Personally I believe being different for difference sake is worse.

Petar Petrenko reacted to Kazoo in Space between columns
Yes, I can't help thinking that having the column settings in guide manager is a bit arse about face. I had to go look it up in this forum to even know where to find it.
I have been using Indesign for 18 months at work after formal training on it, and even if you weren't planning on having a "layout" tab, surely it makes more sense to put the column settings in the Document Setup area, or near to it? Anyone who has used DTP extensively, professionally or not- the first thing you do is set up your master pages, including your guides. Therefore it makes sense for this setting to be quick and easy to find. Actually setting up the columns themselves in AP is also a bit round the houses- I had to add the setting to the relevant vertical/horizontal box and then click it before it even showed up on the page....? C'mon Serif!
