Petar Petrenko reacted to Patrick Connor in Footnotes/Endnotes
We all hope that.
Ver 1.7 will not have this feature. Serif have not said what features will be in 1.8 or other updates to 1.X. I would rather not think about a "final version" ... that feels very far off for this fledgling product.

Footnotes at the end of the story *are* endnotes.

And by adding support for bibliography and Reference Tools like JabRef, Zotero and Medeley it will be even easier to make good references/endnotes/footnotes...
That way we can actually drop Words or other word prosessors for writing and go stright to Publisher to do all our work for books and reports that need references and bibliographies...
Would be great...

+ 1 for this. So far as I can tell from a first test flight, the only important feature that would stop me from quitting Adobe CC would be missing foot and end notes.

Petar Petrenko reacted to garrettm30 in Footnotes/Endnotes
Are footnotes and endnotes currently possible (besides manually creating them, of course)? I haven't found them so far.
If not, this is a feature that I think would be widely used. I suspect it may take some time to get right if it is not yet under development, so I would understand if it is not a day-1 feature.

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from Old Bruce in Affinity Publisher 1.7.0.305 ready for release? (split)
Maybe with different extension (like other programs name their templates) so when you open them, they are named as <Untitled>.

We are testing those personas internally/privately, so they are getting some coverage already

Petar Petrenko reacted to Nivrams in Global Colors and Color Chords
If I understand Petar's request #1, it's that all Global colors be labeled with their respective color components (CMK or RGB.)
That's a minimum. I would prefer ALL swatches be thus labeled… and possibly editable to give the color a reference… all leaves, all pencils, etc..
In addition there must be a way to select a spot PMS color by typing its reference#. And the document swatch file must be available in list form with labels at all times.
Color overprinting should be on an object-by-object basis. Or the object selection should override the swatch designation. Or both.
Full-color printing or video art are not as demanding as spot color or flexographic art where every object is a specific ink or combination. AD should be as suitable as Illustrator.
I would like AD to do simple jobs accurately. Affinity photo does a good job at refining photos, but right now, I find Affinity Designer makes simple print jobs more challenging
than necessary. I would love vector blending and envelope distortion, but Designer has to handle color(s) better. Or at least let me know where I can find out what I'm missing.
This is not in criticism of Perar's observations. His are more sophisticated and include things that Adobe has recently made available

Petar Petrenko reacted to Pšenda in Adjustment layers
In the case of fx, the order of the effects is fixed, which might not be suitable for the Adjustments - the order according to the needs of the user is preferable.
-
Petar Petrenko reacted to walt.farrell in Adjustment layers
That sounds like you may be talking about the Adjustments Panel, then.
But in either case, as I mentioned there is a distinction, because the Layer Effects are not creating separate layers. They create one set of effects applied to a selected layer, not multiple sets of adjustments applied as separate layers. That difference in function, to me, justifies the difference in behavior. One set of effects, one panel. Separate adjustment layers, separate panels.
But it's your request, and if it's now clear to Serif what you're asking for, it will be up to them to implement it (or not)

Petar Petrenko reacted to dominik in Affinity Publisher Public Beta - 1.7.0.305
Well, I'll leave the part about the download speed here. This has nothing to do with the readiness of the software.
Thanks for pointing out, though.

In this case, yes.
But let us be surprised when it´s ready.

I could easily see it, as I have mine shown as a list, not as a hierarchy

Thank you very much for
pinned objects, and DOCX import. Both works perfectly. Even the problem I had about having to convert the DOC/DOCX files to RTF (not in Word) to import Macedonian text is solved.

Petar Petrenko reacted to JET_Affinity in Pencil tool. Invisible lines.
Garry, the issue is clearly depicted in Max N's first post. He is talking about seeing the path he is drawing with the Pencil Tool being previewed even if the current fill, stroke settings are none, and he contrasts it with the {expected) preview behavior of the Bezier Pen.
Again; preview of the shape you are dragging with a Pencil too—even if unpainted—is standard fare. In principle, it's the same thing as dragging with a Lasso Tool to make a freeform selection marquee.

Me too. I wrote DOS-based software (and 805x firmware) to control telephony hardware for several years. Things were simpler then!

I was right-clicking on "Start" button and choose "Run". There was no option like "Run as administrator". But now, after your post I found the "Command Prompt" and "Run as administrator" and I will try it after 6 PM when my wife comes back from work.
Thanks Alfred.

Where are you typing the command, Petar? When you choose ‘Command Prompt > Run as administrator’, a window should open and display a command prompt (‘C:\>’ or similar) where you type the command, and that window should remain open until you close it.
