Petar Petrenko got a reaction from Mark Oehlschlager in Affinity Publisher to be launched at Affinity Live
Designer is vector based app like Illustrator or CorelDRAW and Publisher is layout app like InDesign or QuarkXPress.

Hi All,
We're thrilled to announce that Affinity Publisher will be launched at Affinity Live on the 19th June - and it's also available to pre-order now with a 20% discount.
We are going to live stream the event keynote at 6.15pm (BST) which will also include announcements on our future plans and perhaps a few surprises. For more info check out our spotlight article here. Would be great if you could join us...
Thanks,
Ash

Petar Petrenko reacted to toth in Street Maps Etc ADe 1.7 (split)
THANK YOU! I've been struggling with this exact problem, getting parallel, but also intersecting lines. Awesome! I tried drawing letters with two strokes enabled, and now it's easy as a breeze..!
EDIT: PS, I also just discovered you can draw open ended roads by setting one stroke to "butt cap" and the other to "square cap"

Golden Master.
The version Serif has internally is as it will be when released for sale, unless a show-stopping bug pops up.

Until we have our lovely new release Publisher firmly placed on the dock in the middle with Photo and Designer on either side. Mine is already preordered, and I am so happy for you all at Affinity. You have worked so tirelessly, so patiently, and so brilliantly to bring this to us. Thank you again and again!!

@Petar Petrenko
Here's a preview of Quark 2019 tables -- they are inside the text frames and have some spiffy new formatting tools:

Petar Petrenko reacted to MEB in New version - will be this year?
Hi J a n,
If you were using the Beta all this time, then no, its major improvements/features were already announced quite some time ago, so users/beta testers who wish to test them could do so. But for most regular users, using the retail version (which is v1.6) all these features are new. Affinity Photo 1.7 wasn't officially launched yet and exists only as a beta version.
This 1.7 cycle took more time than usual because we had to ensure fully integration with the upcoming Affinity Publisher (which will complete the suite's foundation). After Publisher's release you should see upgrades/new features more frequently since most complex work was already done.

Petar Petrenko reacted to Dave Harris in Bug in numbered list
Multi-level numbering and bullet styles are already supported. The default text styles list has "Numbered 1", "Numbered 2", and "Numbered 3" as examples. They use a combination of the list Level (each level gets its own counter), the Text field to set the 1.2.3 format, and usual paragraph indents.

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from walt.farrell in Bug in numbered list
I was searching in "Text" menu and I couldn't find it there.
Outline styles are multilevel numbering (or bullet or mix of both) styles:
1. cvb vcb xcv
1.2 cvb cvb cvb
or
1. vb vb vb
bn b nbn bn vbnv -
Petar Petrenko reacted to dominik in Publisher feature roadmap.
It was announced several time ago that a feature roadmap will be published after APub's initial release. Since we are still in beta this is the reason why it is not there, yet.

Yes, that one.
I suppose the problem was with the cyrilic support.

Wooow.
Fast start and problem with RTF format saved from Word, now solved.
Thanks, A-Team.

Nobody stops you to pay to them even $10.000. Just ask them to send you a bill.

Once upon a time... Calamus for Atari and Windows had that feature. A professional one.

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from Fixx in Page Master sizes question? (Also: I'm impressed!)
I have the same problem. I create a new master page with different size and orientation and it can't be applied on a page. I had to resize it through "Spread Setup...".
If so, why we are allowed to change the size when we define a new master page?

Those who already signed up for this beta should find out (very) soon. Information (you know) like price, date, (discount) that sort of thing...

That's a good point. But any flaws should be straightened out eventually.
That's why it's worth to look into this

Petar Petrenko reacted to .: NICKY G. :. in Maybe it's a good idea, maybe not ... read
Excuse my question / request, surely many of you will have different theses about this question, but I was wondering:
Analyzing the two software "Designer and Publisher" I could not, to my great astonishment, notice that Publisher is importing Designer files natively (as is right and normal), but above all once the Designer vector file has been inserted into publisher it is possible to modify the vector directly without having to reopen it in Designer and update the connection instance again. Which is missing even in Illustrator !!!
I also noticed that "Publisher's interface and tools are very similar if not identical to those of Designer".
So to make it short:
Wouldn't it be better to create just one great software by combining "designer and publisher"? By adding in Designer, the few missing drawing features that Designer has. (I would also add that there are very few missing features, and in contrast to Indesign, in Publisher it is possible to manage vectors much better)
So in the end we designers We should learn only 2 software (one of design / layout and the other of photo editing), but above all, images apart, we should not go back and forth between software.
I imagine that many will say that the two software will have to have a life of its own, that everyone was born to do one thing and not the other.
But on balance the reality is that Publisher really lacks few design tools, to function identically as designers. So why not integrate it?

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from Alfred in Address Labels and other small publication templates
Why don't you create your own templates? It is not too complicated. I used to do it a long time ago. Start with the most used ones and in spare time add the others.

Petar Petrenko reacted to MikeW in Multiple Page Document Import
If there will be a selector for All pages (or a range), then great! If it will be still a single page for subsequent placement, then perhaps not as great. It would be most advantageous that at some time in the future one can place all or ranges.

Petar Petrenko reacted to GarryP in Additions to the Context Toolbar
Bill PDX, if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel you should be able to hover the mouse pointer over the Font Size field and use the scroll wheel to change the value by a Unit. Also, Shift+scroll-wheel changes by 10xUnit and Ctrl+scroll-wheel changes by 0.1xUnit. The same thing should work for the other numerical input fields too, although not all numerical input fields change by a simple Unit (e.g. Paragraph Leading).

Petar Petrenko reacted to Distill7 in Master page attached to a paragraph style
That's a very smart idea, however I'm wondering if the white rule and the text will be still exported to the pdf file. I'm worried if that might cause some problems for printers.
