Petar Petrenko got a reaction from Intuos5 in Is AFFINITY dead?
I don't think Affinity will start with subscription model but, if so, I will stop using it (as I told to Pixelmator Pro when I got an announcement they start subscribing model with Pixelmator Photo).

Indic scripts (such as Devanagari) which are LTR but have complex shaping behaviour.

Heavy use of the word "you" and "we" (as in you) and poor listening skills. Most of this is projection. There's constructive feedback here, but no reason to attack another user for disagreeing.

Just my two cents.
A forced subscription would just make me stay at 1.x forever, I only use this software as a hobbyist and I don't want to have monthly payment required to use it. I also don't see how any professional would want this, pay forever or you lose access to all your work.
Any form of internet or challenge/response activation would also put me off. This was my main reason together with the beautiful UI for choosing Affinity in the first place. This would make it possible for Serif to pull to plug on any version whenever they'd like, similar to how Adobe no longer allows older CC versions because of licensing issues. And no this has nothing to do with piracy, if I wanted to do that I'd just pirate PS and the problem with older CC versions wouldn't exist either.
I trust Serif isn't going down this road, just detailing my thoughts.

I just wanted to be sure it can't be used the same way as in Designer and Publisher to make suggestion to the Affinity Team.

As far as I know, Photo doesn’t have the same Crop Tool – it works differently – that the other applications have, which is why I suggested that you use clipping instead.

If you are alluding to my reference to PageMaker, it was a Mac and Windows program. Adobe had to rewrite InDesign from scratch because old software not always meet today's expectations. It's the same with PagePlus versus Publisher: the first one was never conceived to run on the Mac, go figure on an iPad. I don't see much to reuse.

Experience without enough time to do it is nothing. Publisher is 2-3 years among us and you want to have everything that InDesign or Quark... have today. We, also, have to bear in mind that Affinity team is not as big as Adobe. They had experience of making PageMaker behind them and yet, they couldn't be number one with InDesign v.1.

PagePlus is history and Publisher is a brand new product. It has nothing in common with PagePlus except the company.

Just an overview of InDesign features since version 1. You can see if they had implemented all the features in v.1 that we use today or it was a long journey:

If you have the underscore as the delimiter for start end of italics then this works for me.

Petar Petrenko got a reaction from NotMyFault in CorelDRAW default colors for Affinity
Because I am familiar to Excel and I saw that all PANTONE libraries are editable in Excel, so I got the idea to see if it's going to work.
I don't think there is a problem finding the location where the PANTONE libraries are, at least it wasn't for me.
As I said, i'm familiar with this process and I have in plan to add more palettes this way.
I'll keep a copy of them, so it won't be so hard to "install" them again, if needed.

Thanks for the interesting idea of "installing" color palettes 😉!

Just place the file from attachment in the folder where the other PANTONE color libraries are and you will have all CorelDRAW default colors:
C:\Program Files\Affinity\Publisher\Resources\Pantone
P.S
Replace Publisher with the Photo or Designer to locate the folder to copy the library.
CorelDRAW default colors.csv

And both were Coated Fogra239?
Perhaps InDesign does not take the source profile into account when converting from CMYK to RGB as (I believe) the Affinity applications do?
You could try having two different documents in InDesign, with two different CMYK color profiles. Setup the same color in both, then convert to RGB, and see if you get different RGB values (as you should) or the same RGB value. You could also try that with the Affinity applications.

I don't insist. What gets most people in "trouble" when picking spot colors is choosing one of the palettes that are not spot colors. Only about half are actual spot color palettes.
You can figure out some of which are / are not by the names of the palettes...the words coated/uncoated mean they are actual spot colors, for instance. Then there are the visual clues. Spot colors in a chosen color from a particular swatch will show a small dot in the lower right corner.

Petar Petrenko reacted to MikeW in Pantone to CMYK conversion
Pantone has given explicit permission for users to create, use, modify, and pass on Pantone pallets. One can find such posts made by Pantone on the Adobe InDesign forum.
Not that such things are necessary with Serif software. It became a big deal for Adobe users once they, Adobe, stopped upgrading the Pantone palettes back around 2008 or so. So we Adobe users that had Pantone software were often creating such palettes and distributing them with Pantone's blessing.

Right. But it seems that @LadyH did not understand, and was expecting you to have attached the file. I was telling her that is not necessary.
