  1. Hi, when opening a PDF document a dialog window appears which offers to: load all pages, or to choose only one page, among other options. It would be nice if it offers to open/import a page range like in Print dialog window (1-3, 7, 35-64). But, this option could be separated in two parts -- Relative and Absolute. Lets say we have 10 pages PDF document and we want to load only this range: 2-4, 6, 8-9. If we choose Relative, than these pages will be imported one after another and we have 6 pages in AD: 1 through 6. If we choose Absolute, then we have 10 pages opened in AD where the pages in the range keep their positions and pages not included in page range (1, 5, 7 and 10) are entered as blank pages.
  2. Four phases of development of a young composer when he was asked who is the best composer on the world: 1. Me, 2. Me then Beethoven, 3. Beethoven then me, 4. Beethoven.
  3. I avoid bitmap apps as much as I can. Only if there is something that it can't be done in vector or layout app. And if their is no special need for vector effects or so, I prefer to choose a layout app. Which one it will be (Quark or ID) it depends on what should be done. I prefer Quark because I can do a lot of easy bitmap manipulations vs ID which can't vectorize its own PDF files and can't even manipulate with PSD layers.
  4. Sorry if I offend it anyhow. It was not my intention. I said that about InDesign and Quark because I have 25+ years of experience in this field. I've tried and own a lot of apps, but I found that using only one app for my job is much better then switching from one to another.
  5. You are wrong about this Buck. I've made hundreds of trifold brochures and other advertising materials and I asure you that it is breeze to do it in InDesign or Quark. About the second part: They got angry because I am convinced that having one app is much better the 3 separated... but they said (and a lot of users) it was out of question. So, I don't want to push this any more. Let's see what the future will bring to us. Maybe it would be better to make a poll on their FB page to see what users wants more -- swiss knife or separated apps.
  6. Most users want all tools in one app because they don't like to swap apps. They want to work quick and efficient. They don't want to ask themselves: "Oh, were was this tool -- in Photo, Publisher or ...". You can say this if you read the comments, feature requests. All of them want some specific feature to be in the app they are used to work with, because it was there in the app from a different vendor they owned. Adobe goes this way. They started long time ago to include features from AI <-> PS <-> ID. I will stop here because I already repeat myself and don't want to make the Affinity team angry because of my way of thinking.
  7. If they add this feature to Designer (and Photo) then what will be the difference between them and Publisher? There would be no need of it.
  8. My advice is to keep both apps and buy the Publisher when it comes out. They will be a good trio.
  9. The best solution: 1. Open a new document with the size and resolution you need, 2. Import and resize the picture(s), 3. Save/export the document to the desired format.
  10. Another nice format is JPG2000, but it is not supported by most vendors. It has better compression than JPG and it is losless.
  11. You should use the native format of the software you use: Photoshop = PSD (TIFF), Affinity Photo = afphoto, ...
  12. Hi, when unistalling the apps are registry entries removed also, or not? It would be nice if they are.
  13. Hi, Instead of Copy/Paste the list of fixes from Designer (Beta) into Photo (Beta), I think it would be much clearer to wirte "Same as in Designer (Beta) + ... (list of fixes only in Photo (Beta)).
  14. OK. It will do the job until "Page Curl" feature is added to Photo and "Mesh Warp Tool" is redone.
  15. NO. I just want the page to be folded like Photoshop did. I will take care for the rest.
  16. Well, you can always use your imagination and change it. I hope you don't expect the app to do all your jobs by itself?
