  1. Hi,

I converted a few vector objects into shapes with "Geometry > Add" and add a picture as a child layer to get this effect. I can move any shape if I select it and drag it by clicking on one of its nodes.

The question is: is it possible, somehow, all objects to stay as objects without converting them into shapes in case of further resizing, rotating, changing their shape with control points?

My current upgrade cost for QuarkXPress version 2018 that is to be released next month costs just a tad more than all 3 Affinity applications at full retail.

I don't see a downside for Serif to keep the features separate. With the file format they use, one can open each products files.

If you are a painter, would you keep all your colors, tools and materials in different rooms and walk with the canvas from one room to another to finish the piece? :)

On my setup, it certainly would take more room than is available to show all 14 buttons using my preferred workspace window size, which is set to be narrower than the full screen width so I can float the Layers panel next to it (& at full screen height) without that panel obscuring anything in the workspace window.

Keep in mind that there are many different ways the app can be set up with various combinations of floating & docked panels, & that the Context toolbar is designed to make a few of the most frequently used functions associated with the various tools available as buttons for quick access. For that to work well with narrower display windows, they have chosen to limit the number of buttons. As I said, if you want to see more of them, make a feature request.

And who decides which functions are used more frequently? I, for example, use distribute functions as frequently as align ones.

On your 3840 px wide screen there is room for the 14 individual buttons, but certainly not for all the options available in the Alignment menu on the main toolbar. On narrower displays, it is unlikely all 14 buttons could always be displayed without pushing some of the other buttons off the Context toolbar, making them accessible only by clicking on the 'overflow' double chevron button.

Also consider that the main toolbar Alignment menu can be used with the Layers panel to align or distribute selected layers even when the Move tool is not active & that the window containing the toolbars may not be sized to the full width of the display.

It will not take more room then the buttons from the pen tool need.
