(Different) colours for guides

Can anyone explain what is the purpose of "Leading override" in Text styles? It does not know which line(s) has the override, so it changes all of them as standard leading does. What happens if you applied the p.style with lead.override to more than one paragraph each with different override settings? IMO leading override should only be applied manually. Following the logic of kerning/tracking, leading and its override counterpart should be located in same panel (paragraph) because they deal with rows and this way they can be easily located.

On "Swatches". But it doesn't matter, wherever you make a change it must work corectly -- fill color for background, outline color for the frame.

Hi, here are two bugs I found in Publisher: When I select a shape or picture frame and try to change the stroke width, it is changed also in the character panel. When I select a text frame and try to change the fill or outline color of the frame, it changes the fill and outline color of the text. Of course, I can open the "Text Frame" panel to do this, but it is one more panel opened unnecessarily and only text frame reacts like this. You can change the fill and outline colors of all the other objects -- shapes, picture frames, lines, text -- via "Swatches" panel buy not of the text frame like in InDesign or Quark.

HI, is it possible we get project files like in Quark? A project file is a container of one or multiple documents (tabs) that can be used for: Complete book design -- one tab for the inside part of the book, another for the soft cover, third for the hard cover... Book chapters -- every tab can contain a book chapter, so when a "Book" feature comes it can be easily generated from one project. Brand design -- one tab for the logo, another for the business cards, third for the letter template... When you save the project you get only one file on the disk, all the documents are inside it.

I'm not talking about artboards in Photo. I just hope they will remove them in Designer from Layers panel and add a new "Artboard" panel as they deserve. So, they would not be just a layer named "Artboard nnn" in Layers panel anymore. Instead of tenants, they must be landlords and have their own tenats (layers).

What a confusion: Special layer, Layer layer, container, Artboard... I hope Affinity will raise Artboards on higher level in v. 2.0 and give them a separate panel with the same rang as "Pages" in Publisher. After all, pages, artboards... are all substrates or canvases which designers use to place the elements of their artworks on specific layers.

Footnotes/Endnotes

Version 2.0 may come after 1.26 or 1.73 or 1.263... It depends when the foot/end notes will be ready. -
3 page spread

Publisher's feature to resize the columns with a mouse is really great. Resizing the gutter with CTRL+drag would be a very nice addition. -
Ability to combine multiple text frames.

Yes, Xara has this option when importing PDF. You can select multiple text blocks and merge them. Selecting order is important, too. -
Hi, I finally got Publisher's workbook and at the very beggining I found a typo under Contributors subhead, just after the list of Affinity Workbook Team. It says: It should be: Publishing projects generally require content from four creative spectrums: photography, illustration, type and color. This is because design is not a creative element (spectrum), but a creative process that uses these four elements to create an eye-catching final document.

Hi, it would be nice if we could have a choice to choose how many pages (PDF) or artboards to place in Publisher document. Another nice option would be to choose a range of pages (like 1st, 4th, 6th, 12th) and how to palce them: continuosely -- on pages 1, 2, 3 and 4; or on the same pages -- 1, 4, 6 and 12. That is because the "Spread" dissapears after placing the first page.
-
So, something must be changed here. An "option" button with choices would be fine where you can enter the range of pages you want and: "continuous" option if you want selected range to be one after another, or "corresponding pages" where pages 1, 3 and 6 would be placed on pages 1, 3 and 6 on the Publisher document leaving the rest of the document unchanged.

Hi, I created a 10 pages blank document in which I want to place only 3 pages (1st, 3rd, 6th) from a PDF file that has much more. I can put only the first one which can be replaced with another one when I click on a "Spread" dropdown list (which is active when the page is selected) shown on the control bar. I have to repeat the process as many times as I have pages to be placed. Do I miss something?

I was a QXP user several years ago and now, while I'm waiting for Publisher to introduce footnotes, I use ID. I start with: cleaning the text in ID, convert local character formating with character styles, apply text style to the whole document because more than 90% of it is body text, apply the rest of the styles. Number 2 could be avoided if the A-Team decide not to reset local character formatings with applying local paragraph or paragraph style formatings. It would dramaticaly accelerate my workflow.
