I call those Captions.
Captions and tablenotes are completelly different terms.
Captions are used to describe the tables, photos, charts, drawings... and tablenotes have the same functionality of the footnotes, but they explain the text which is located in a cell of a table.

As a reader I would hate to have footnotes, endnotes, section notes and notes for tables in one publication.
- Endnotes can be positioned at the end of a section, story or the publication. So they can be named sectionnotes, storynotes or just endnotes if they are at the end of the publication. They are (or, can be) used for bibliography.
- Footnotes are used to exolain some part of the text on the actual page.
- Tablenotes are used to explain some text placed within the cells of the table and they are positioned at tne bottom of the table.
So, I don't see any reason why these 3 kinds of notes could not exist in same publication.

Other topics would be here instead... Why are only some of my letters effected??????
No, in that case everything would be clear because the effect would appear on the selection only, not on whole artistic text.

in one publication.
What do you mean by this?

If they worked as I suggest, this topic would not exist.

As its name suggests, a layer effect is applied to the entire layer. It is not only applied to selected characters.
Of course. It is obvious. What I suggest is they will be more flexible if applied on selected text.

Layer effects has to be character effects, to be applied on selected text.

Tables lack only one feature -- inline tables (inside text box) to be able to continue on multiple pages.
and another one:
to link text cells allowing text flow. Creating calendarium this way would be a breeze.

Every time I see there's a new version of Publisher, I install it and I run to see if "spreads of more than 2 pages" is between the new features.
And, every time, I end up disappointed.
I swear, I can`t understand why this feature isn't implemented yet, when Serif PagePlus X9, the grandfather of this Publisher, have got it...
AFAIK, Affinity is not going to add any new feature until version 2.0.

you should install an Afrikaans keyboard if you can find one for your operating system.
or you can redefine your keyboard layout with "Ukelele":

Hitting the Revert Defaults button on the Toolbar should let new objects revert to their default settings
Yes, but until you set new attributes to the object, the same again. I would like in InDesign -- after you assigned some fill to an object, the next one has default settings.
-
Examples:
- When I apply a fill and outline to an object, the next one I draw has the same fill and outline (which I don't need);
- When I draw a text frame and apply a 3 columns to it, the next text frame has also 3 columns (which I don't need).
Is there any way to stop this?
NOTE: it doesn't have anything with "Set defaults".

Open "View > Studio > Glyph Browser".

Is this happening on any document or just a particular one for you?
I am on Windows and I tried just on this particular doc.

You may have to select the frame to see the flow.
No, column guides and text flow arrow can't be seen whether you select the text frame or not.

Then ignore that part. View > Show Text Flow is how you see the text frames that are not active.
So, they can't be seen without text flow arrows. OK then. That it is. Thanks.

Column guides means the 3 columns in the Text Frame, right?
Yes, in the text frame. I create the text frame directly on the working page, not via master page. In this case I don't want to use master pages.

I didn't assigned any color. Everything is default and I still can't see the column guides.

Some possibilities:
-
View > Show Text Flow. That will show all text frames, all the time (including whether they have overflowing text), and when one is active will show how it flows to other text frames.
or - Setup column guides for the page itself, and then use View > Show Column Guides. View > Guides Manager will let you configure those page column guides.
1. This is partially helpful because it shows frame text linking arrows which I don't need. What I need is column guides only.
2a. Show column guides was already checked but it didn't help.
2b. Guides Manager does not help either. There you can set page guides, not text frame ones.

Hi,
I created a text frame with 3 columns on a blank page and the column guides are visible only when the text frame is selected. I couldn't find anything in "View" manu and "Text Frame" panel to check/uncheck anything that will make them visible. Any sugestions?

I wonder where Publisher put the words when spell checking is on and you click on "Learn"? Is it in the language specific dictionary or somewhere else and where it is located?
