I think the "start on next page" is an incompatible setting for the second paragraph when you want to keep them together.
Why? It works in InDesign.
-
If you have 2 consecutive paragraphs (subtitles) set to "Start on Next Page" and you want in some cases to keep them together, you can't achieve this even if you set "Space between same styles" to 0.

"Common" directory is empty instead being populated with anything common between the 3 apps and searching for them separatelly. And it is easy for the user to "install" what's needed to appear in all apps like colors, brushes, assets, styles...

Adding things like you are doing with the Pantone file (into the Resources folder) is not a supported operation.
It doesn't matter. It works just fine for me and it is much easier to create and maintain a color palette this way (at least for me).

I shall see when 2.5 comes.

if they can be added to the Affinity user folder instead of the Program Files folder, they won't be deleted when the apps are updated.
So, Affinity, please do something about this.

I meant that updating an EXE install may also involve a full uninstall (under the covers)
Does this include brushes, plug-ins... too?

One of the moderators mentioned the EXE updates involve an uninstall
I've deinstalled retailed and beta MSIX and installed retailed and beta EXE apps. If this is what you mean?

And if you're using the MSIX version the reinstall is into a completely different directory with a new name.
What? OMG! No, it's definitely not OK. I'll have to reinstall .EXE versions.

I copied mine .CSV file in PANTONE directory in all three 2.4.1 apps just about an hour before 2.4.2 appeared. Now, it dissapeared from all 3 apps. Why are you deleting files that are not part of Affinity apps? Do we have to "reinstall" them after every update / upgrade?
-
Here it is another idea:
In the attachment is the default CorelDRAW palette. It is a .CSV file and you can put it in the PANTONE folder and have it active all the time. You can open this file with a NotePad and see how it is organized, so you can create your own palettes and put them in the same folder.

You cannot open WindowsApp (and you should not "take ownership" of it)
Yes, I opened it and took the ownership. Now, I copied the files to the PANTONE folder and Designer recognized them. I will do it the same with Publisher and Photo.

Thank you very much being patient with me. It helped.

You would have to ‘take ownership’ of the special WindowsApps
How can I do that? Because nothing else works.
Eventually I'll have to go back to .EXE installers instead. I had no problems with them.
-
It works now. Thank you.
But, now there are 2 other problems:
- I am not allowed to copy new .csv files into this directory;
- I am not allowed to go back to WindowsApps to see tne contents of Publisher's and Designer's PANTONE directories.
-
No, still the same error.

You would have to ‘take ownership’ of the special WindowsApps folder in order to view its contents, but there’s no need to do that because you can go directly to any of its subfolders. Copy the folder path
Windows says it can't find the path.

Where I can find PANTONE libraries under .msi installers?

For me, for Photo 2.1.1.1847, it's C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\SerifEuropeLtd.AffinityPhoto2_2.1.1.1847_x64__3cqzy0nppv2rt\App\Resources\Pantone but that would change with updates to newer releases.
Windows does not allow to open WindowsApps folder. Are there any chances to override it?

Are they global colors?

That list of videos is exactly what I needed. The playlist on YouTube is not in order.
This video will probably also help folks who are putting together an Amazon KDP book:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wykbW_yRg6IIMO, he is not very skillfull:
- Defines margins when creating a new document, but totally ignore them when setting master pages elements;
- Enters numeric values manually instead with mouse;
- Leaving orphans / widows...

Affinity, be cautious with your statements and actions from this point forward. Any deviation, even the smallest from the promises you have made to us in the past, could result in the loss of customers.
We all have had bad experiences with such alliances in the past, and this came to us like a bolt from the blue. We are all tense, nervous and this will be reflected in our work as well as in our everyday life. My personal opinion is that it will never be the same again for any of us.
I ask you once again to be careful what you do or your business may come crashing down like a house of cards and Adobe will win without investing a cent.- Westerwälder, Tia Lapis and cybercrystal

Some features, like this one, should be named the same as the ones from the Affinity big brothers -- Quark, InDesign...

Yes, in some cases I use this trick, but my philosophy is minimalism -- maximum results with minimum efforts (if possible). In this case I will join them with soft RETURN.
