Freid reacted to Mralex in Wacom Intuos problems (brush size/hardness setting not working/zooming)
Hi, I'm also having some zooming difficulties.
I have a cintiq 22' touch and when I use the left slider on the back it works as a 'scroll' not a 'zoom'. I'd wish to have it work as a zoom. When I adjust the cintiqu to only 'zoom' nothing happens in Affinity. Is there something that can be done to adjust this?
Thank you

Freid reacted to RaymondDO in Aztec Bar & Restaurant
Hi all -
One of my first draft versions for a wall decoration concept for Aztec, a potential start-up bar restaurant. Although the client likes it, I am sensing a few opportunities for improvement.
The space under the name Aztec needs to be filled by another text block - either 'Bar' or 'Restaurant' - depending on where the image will be placed, or how it will be used.
I am also contemplating whether the design needs more color, although the client feels that the overall sandy-color reminds him of his homeland Mexico. We are still playing with the ruby-red 'gemstones' which could potentially be recolored in blue to become more complimentary to the design's yellow/orange overtones.
Happy with all else so far; looking forward to receiving your feedback, critiques and ideas.
Cheers!

I am doing InkTober myself but I only use Affinity Photo/Designer for putting the word of the day.
Also I use it to adjust the scanned images a bit
Best regards!

Freid reacted to paolo.limoncelli in Cooktop UI design
Hi!
This year I've been working on home appliances and domotics.
This is a project for an hybrid cooktop controlled by a touch screen.
All done in AD, from early concepts to production assets.
The design has been flipped during prototyping stages, so we ended with two different layouts of the final product.
It also features a remote control for devices
The prototype is working pretty fine, and the customer is going to show it during a European exhibition in Germany.
Finger crossed !

Too funny! But even at x0.25 it was too fast for my head to follow the tools usage. Got the Pen tool and the Node tool, everything else was a blur!

I'm afraid I'm too impatient, so I clicked on the Settings gearwheel and changed the playback speed to 2x.

You see the finished colorized image, you see the wonderful detail...
but then you watch the time lapse and realize you didn't really see the billions of detail items after all! Like the vast number of highlights and shadows in all the right places. Like the glows from the instruments in the cockpits (my fave!).
So impressive!

Freid reacted to Kasper-V in 2.5D: "moving" pictures
I've been experimenting (playing around, mucking about) with a concept called 2.5D --"two and a half dimensions". I've seen it on TV programmes and historical presentation videos, and finally I've got around to trying it myself. I've had one or two false starts with images that are too complex (mainly for my patience, although my cutting-out skills have been challenged), but here are a few that work pretty well, I think. The first one is actually the first one I made, and was a bit ambitious. The last two are from a photo that allows for a drone's-eye-view approach. The photos were split into layers in AP, with the in-painting brush and the clone stamp used to remove things and add stuff around the edges where I needed to fill in gaps between layers. Each layer was saved as a separate png (to preserve transparency), and I used Serif MoviePlus X6 to put the whole thing back together and add motion. (I'm going to miss MP! I shall have a long search to find anything as versatile for a reasonable price.)
This is Stowe Gardens in Buckinghamshire, if you're wondering. Capability Brown's finest.
The poet Tennyson & his family at their home on the Isle of Wight. (Just down the road from my home!) If pioneer photographer Oscar Rejlander had had a zoom lens ...
Walsall, 1900. Early drone footage!
Same photo, different treatment. This photo was ideal, having so many layers of rooftops -- five in all, although I could have stretched it to six or seven.

Fun stuff.
Perhaps try one with some blurring as the layers become distant, or even some mist / haze depending upon the subject matter.
You could even pull focus between foreground and background
