  1. Right… I was under impression it does not exist, since the difference was so small (you might want to tweak the default value…?). All good, thanks!
  2. Moving layers with arrow keys is possible, but while holding Shift key it does not move them with 10x increments like all other similar apps.
  3. A1: Candidates in this file just doesn't activate for me. Maybe because they're Artboards? Or because the file is imported from AI? I attached the file. A2: The initial question was actually about exporting *a selection* of artboards. And into single PDF, as pages. It's really common case for me, as I have different iterations of design in the document and I would like to export a print-file from the desired ones. In Illustrator I need to delete the rest of the stuff and do a "Save As", but Affinity is really close to ideal with exporting. Just the one bit missing, I'm asking about. Snapping issue?.afdesign
  4. If I don't have trackpad present I tend to zoom on canvas using the mouse-scroll zoom. However, some notes: - It's working wrong way (scroll up vs down), if we consider OS X system zoom (can be enabled in System Prefs) as a standard, plus some OS X-based apps, like Sketch. - It's really sensitive. I'd say too sensitive. Sketch has it done nicely. - Would be nice if the keyboard "key" is configurable.
  5. Thank you for the quick reply. Adding some details: A1: I attached a screen recoring. Settings appear to be OK, as all the snapping types are enabled. A2: But into one PDF? I really wish that would be possible, and even directly in export panel. It makes total sense, as the artboards are now present. O3: I believe all the apps do that. It really helps too. Worth a note that I have turned off auto-save in System Prefs. Snapping bug?.mov
  6. Artboards: - Would be nice if artboards whould align to each other while dragging them around - There should be a way to export selection of artboards, so they would be separate pages in PDF (use-case: I have 15 business cards as separate artboards in one document. I want to print some of them and need to export these to one PDF) - Bug: "Export > Selection With Background" exports whole document Other: - Choosing gradient should apply gradient to fill immidiately, currently you need to tweak it before it applies. - Option key + click on "Move forward/backward one level" button on toolbar should bring to item to Front/Back - On toolbar the trafficlight red button doesn’t indicate unsaved document. Other apps do:
  7. A few more: # Bugs/Feature requests: - Duplicating an object while holding option key - snapping is not happening - Swatches panel doesn’t remain same height when selecting other panel above it (that has a different height) Questions: - Working with CMYK files: What color does the preview show? Is it trying to replicate CMYK on a regular coated paper? I have suspicion there are some colors 'off'. - Masks: I still don't quite get how to move and resize an image/item inside the mask?
  8. Thank you for the comments. File previews appeared now, so seems to be a Finder issue.
  9. I've been playing around with the new version of Affinity Designer now, and I'm truly impressed how capable and fast the product has become. However, I collected some early observations, with some questions. # Feature requests - A way to set Text Frame height ‘auto’. - Arrow keys don’t work for changing values in some fields. Like Characters panel/Type bar - Scrolling to change value in fields is slippery road I think. Magic Mouse and trackpad way too sensitive, so I’d never use it anyway (it's been bugging me in Illustration for ages). - Setting artboard bleed and margins: there should have ability to set all the values in one step, not setting all four manually # Questions - How does the bleed function work? I’d like to have it visible around the artboard, with snapping etc. - Shouldn’t esc key activate the Move tool? (I draw a shape, hit esc to move other elements/continue my work) - How do I lock the bitmap ratio, so resizing it, I wouldn’t need to hold Shift key. I even think it should be ‘on’ by default - Is masking only possible in layers panel? - Dragging to select layers seem to be inconsistent. Is there some logic, or it's just a bug, that sometimes things can be selected and sometimes not…? # UI - Font properties, gradient editing and some other stuff is happening in the left top corner of the UI, which is not a best location I think (on 27” screen for example). - ".afdesign" file icon is the same as app icon; no Quicklook preview. - Dark UI. It’s mostly a question of taste, but I would really prefer a native OS X colors for the UI, instead of a custom-looking thing. Even the Preferences - why not use the default style, that always looks fresh and up-to-date… But again, it’s just cosmetics. - There are also some parts of UI that would need some “love”. For example layers panel is somewhat confusing; some icons and elements look blurry, etc.
