Regarding manipulation of nodes: I hope someone has their eyes on some of the innovative Bezier handling previewed of (and now present in) in the just-released FontLab Studio VI.
Others may remember that much of FreeHand's superior path drawing and selection interface stemmed from its progenitor, Altsys Fontographer. To my hopeful eye, this may signify at least potential for a long-needed renaissance in 2D Bezier-based vector drawing.

I may have requested this already... but sometime down the road, some sort of isolate function would be awesome.  Basically to aid in tweaking or working on a selected object or multiple selected objects in isolation from the rest of the piece. By invoking a key short everything that's not selected disappears until the key short is invoked again. 
 
Blender has this feature and it's extremely handy for isolating a particular object or group from an otherwise complex piece. Everything disappears and the selected object fills the screen for manipulation.

I just tested this as of latest beta 1.5 (b2)… does not work yet, although quickly accessing the guides manager this way would be very useful.
 
May I add that it would also be very useful to include some way to make the guideline opposite orientation (e.g. vertical to hortizontal) by holding down a key (option?) while dragging into a document in real time. This would save some effort having to avoid re-dragging into canvas via opposing ruler side. 

Is there a way to organize assets within a category, other than by order they were added?  (obviously, name would be great, or other?)

For the consideration of the development team:
 
Well , currently there are two options for selecting the objects on canvas with the marquee:
 
- select all included within the box drawn
- select all the marquee is crossing over
 
now, a program called Rhino3D has an ingenious 3rd option where you can select all included when drawing marquee from left to right, and select all crossed over when starting the selection box from right to left.
 
Getting used to this takes minutes, and you never look back. An enormous, improvement in efficacy. It really helps navigating through dense documents. On the other hand, implementing this feature should not be too difficult.

I have registered just to be able to support this. Not sure about the isometrics, but tangent snapping and trimming would be a godsend in a design drawing software.
