I would like to request having the Ability to rearrange styles. Also, I like to arrange styles in a listview so I can read longer style with longer names. Also I like to adjust a style and have the ability to make the adjustment the new default state of the style.

    Thanks You :)

I haven't seen this mentioned before but it would be nice to have a update to he gradient options.
Contour gradients that follow the shape of your paths like these old FreeHand MX examples would be a great edition.

kemie reacted to nonresidentalien in Feature request: 'Select same' color, line, fill etc
    Dear developer team,
Thanks for implementing so many feature request! Besides the now implemented 'align to key object', which I very frequently use, I am missing a very basic selection tool that would make my live so much easier. It would be great if there was an option to select all objects that share the same line for fill color, line thickness, font property etc.. I often work with figures coming from different scientific programs and cleaning and unifying those up takes a lot of work as one has to chase all instances of a certain color, line thickness etc by hand... I am also sure that every graphical designer who change their mind mid-design would be grateful for this feature.
    Thanks for considering,
    Lars

Hi, now when you added art-boards (i cannot give my feedback yet in full, but it's GREAT it's now there) ..are you considering a cooperation with Zeplin (https://zeplin.io)? seems a lot of companies starting to include this in their workflow.

Regarding manipulation of nodes: I hope someone has their eyes on some of the innovative Bezier handling previewed of (and now present in) in the just-released FontLab Studio VI.
Others may remember that much of FreeHand's superior path drawing and selection interface stemmed from its progenitor, Altsys Fontographer. To my hopeful eye, this may signify at least potential for a long-needed renaissance in 2D Bezier-based vector drawing.

Hi guys! I've been working on this template file to create social media branding material for my clients.
I've managed to create a single file with multiple artboards (each one with it's export presets) ready for use.
You are welcome to delete the ones that you will not use (so you don't generate empty files on export).

It also includes flat icons from each platform just in case you might need them.

It's updated for 2017 according to this data from Social Sprout.

Hope you find it as useful as me.

kemie reacted to StuartRc in Texture Paint Brush Asset Library 01
I Have added a limited number of seamless (hopefully) pattern assets (30 in total) (import to asset Library) as a supplement to the Texture Paint Brushes:

    https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/55202-texture-paint-brushes-group-1-4-120480/

and as a working asset library for creating vector patterns. (Found these really useful while working on the on-going Inktober artwork Conversions )

    Usage
    1. The patterns can be complex inside the rectangular containers but they can be broken apart for other use. (Like spreading a texture inside another object/masking/ pattern making)
    3. Tiled patterns (They should snap together)
    4. Re-colouring (select internal groups in layer panel to re-colour collectively) [not 100% success can be a bit of trial and error!]
    4. As symbols should you choose to add to symbol panel

    Hope you find them useful!

I wanted a base palette that I could use on my illustrations, with a range of shades, and highlights/shadows for each. So I made my own:

It's a good starting point for illustrations, icons & UI work. There's more than 100 swatches, nicely organized. Comes in several formats, of course .afpalette included.
    Grab it over at CreativeMarket!

Exactly. I find HSL the easiest (most intuitive) way to find the color I want, but I most often need to use it in rgb/hex

Another "me too"! Pattern fills are a big part of my workflow and it's highly inconvenient to have to go raster rather than be able to use vector pattern fills. I use pattern fills for noise, texture, geometric patter fills, etc.

Either via transformation boundary box like in Gravit

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Byzv_NlyKp_2Qk51a00zWG9uSm8/view

or via a transformation tool like pressing S defending a scalding center and then move the mouse to scale and rotate around it

If I missed this in Affinity please let me know. Using the transformation window doing symmetrical scaling is not really ideal

kemie reacted to Zunaid in [AD] Useful features for UI/UX Designers (Which ones and Why)
My experience (in brief) : I bought AD mostly for UI/UX design and some illustration design. Overall my experience is good.

    Some good things :

    - I felt it addressed a lot of problems that photoshop and illustrator had when it comes to UI Design.

    - Exporting Persona is great.

    - Overall it's good even though i haven't used it extensively.

Problem is when i am finished with the design. I am having trouble giving my clients the source file. Only that is keeping me from leaving Adobe completely.

    Reason :

    1. Most don't use Affinity Designer.

    2. Png Export is great but clients/developers need source file : Psd, Ai or sketch.

    3. PSD export has some issues e.g. exporting of text, gradient are two which i came across for now. So can't give PSD export files.

    Solution (Feature Requests) :

    1. A free affinity designer trial. It can have limited features. But the client and developer can use them to get attributes. So no need for PSD export. I can just tell them to download the trial version. Problem solved to a certain extent.

    2. Making PSD export files better.  Making the text editable and solving other issues.

[Problem with this] This is a tough one. Adobe is not the only competitor. There is also sketch which is getting popular day by day.
Then there is XD. So making export perfect for all this is time consuming, inefficient.

*3. Integration with web apps like invisionApp, Zeplin, Avacode or Sympli (I think Sympli is working on affinity designer version). This will solve many problems. It will reduce the need to make PSD export perfect. Affinity can then stand as a UI/UX tool on it's own. Similar to Sketch. Sketch doesn't need to export their files to PSD.

    4. Plugins. There are different types of plugins some will make the workflow easy and some are important because it allows integration with web apps. (Mentioned in point 3)

I would suggest it would be better if they can collaborate with InvisionApp.

    Reason :

-InvisionApp supports both windows and mac users unlike many tools like principle and filnto etc.

    - A decent prototyping tool.

    - Inspect feature is similar to Zeplin, Avacode or Sympli. Reducing the need to give PSD source files to client.

    - Motion (still in progress) : Competitor to Principle/Flinto.

I have read in many posts that these features are being highly sought after and lack of it is sadly becoming a problem in replacing Adobe / Sketch with Affinity Designer for UI/UX designers.

kemie reacted to WalterBeiter in adding noise with a number, not just a slider
I would like to have some control over how much noise I apply to an object. Currently I move the slider (which should be in the normal color panel as well, not just in the toolbar) as far as I want. But I don't know that value. If I have an other object and want to apply the same amount of noise, I have to move the noise slider to the point I think it was on the other object. Adding an actual number next to the slider would make it easier. I could enter a number (amount of noise), and I could copy that number and apply that exact same amount of noise to another object.

I had to use Fireworks the other day and remembered how awesome its color picker is. Just hit "I" and automatically sample any color below the dropper, or when you choose a fill color, automatically be able to sample and the color is immediately applied to the selected object.

Hello all! I threw together this social media template based on recommended sizes for 2015—largely based on Constant Contact's recommendations. It doesn't include quite everything, but it has slices already set up as well to help expedite most needs. Enjoy! :)
