  1. Hi Callum, thanks for your suggestion. Yes I thought of that, but I tend to 'nibble away dozens maybe hundreds of times (if it' a complex job) to get the result i want and this wouldn't work. I douse the pen to make paths top export to illustrator etc, but I need that lassoo tool as it used to be in Photoshop CS as its so handy and quick. The 'alt' click method works so well. Thanks though! I like some of the other features in Affinity but I am sort of 'hard wired' to Photoshop for many years. I am persevering though, but that tool is one I use daily so not sure what I can do. I even bought a mac mini from eBay to run PS but its slow as hell and went accept any more ram was a bad move. But I have to keep using it on a spare monitor to get my selections done - think I will go mad!
  2. Hi, Im trialling Affinity as I have 'lost' Photoshop CS having had to upgrade to Yosemite from Snow Leopard as my IMac died and I had to buy a new one with Yosemite, So I am getting to gips with Affinity. I do a lot of work in Photoshop using the lassoo tool to select objects in very fine detail e.g. a figure in a photo selected by 'alt clicking' around it or part of with a feather of 2 pixels. I often select inverse using the lassoo to cut away the background bit by bit so at high magnification you can go around very fine details like grass blades etc. I have been trying to use the freehand selection tool in Affinity but it doesn't work in any way that I can use selecting areas rather than letting me draw a line are around then opening the lasso and 'closing' the selection back where I started. If you know PS you'll probably know what I mean! Is there a way I can alt click (or any key click a selection around and object or part of an object? Thanks!
