Greetings,
I had a newbie question about using levels. Why does lowering the white level make image brighter instead of darker? Is it like compressing the tonal range, boosting output close to the threshold?
Thanks for any advice.

Hello! Does anybody know if we have to first convert an image with a higher resolution (e.g. 1200x800) to be lower, before importing into an Affinity Photo project that is set to a document size of 500x250 - in order to prevent blurring? If so, by how much would I need to convert the higher resolution image to work appropriately in the 500x250 document, for example? Thanks for any feedback.

Hi MEB,
I'm talking about Photo, but I think similar issue with Designer. I basically would import a photo that is still 1200x800 into a document that is set to 500x250. The only scaling I do is just re-sizing it with the mouse. But I can visibly see that the hi-res photo is blurry. In general, what's causing the blurriness? I only figured that since the imported image was higher res than the working document, that it would more than suffice for clarity. Thanks for any feedback.

Greetings,
Just wondering why that is? E.g. I set a new document to be 500x250px...then I when I import a 1200x800 image, that image is blurry. What is causing this? And is the only way to solve this to create a document dimension size that is at least the same size as the image that is to be imported?
Thanks for any feedback

Thanks all for the replies! Image processing does seem complicated and sometimes counter intuitive, just need to understand the logic a bit more. Thanks again!
