@JoshyOur iPad app can only be purchased from the iOS App Store and we don't have any way to apply individual discounts. As our access to the store is limited and Apple should know that we don't sell the iPad version of the app ourselves and referring you to us will only prolong your issue. Have you confirmed by logging into your Apple ID through the App Store app which apps are showing as purchased an available to download? If Apple have stated it's their mistake, they should be the ones to resolve this for you. I'd recommend contacting them again, letting them know the above and ask them to resolve their mistake.

Memory leak? Frequent crashes and large RAM usage
Lee D replied to DKMusic's topic in V1 Bugs found on Windows
@DKMusic Can you please reply to the email that you sent to us direct. -
@SergiCanoBThanks for your report, can you provide some more information please. Which version of Affinity Photo are you running? Which version of macOS are you using? Where are you saving to? Can you also confirm the exact workflow you're doing to get a crash. As for me on the Save option right clicking the file name doesn't give an option to rename, see screenshot from macOS Monterey.

The equivalent to smart objects in Affinity Photo is embedded documents. However unlike PS if you're inserting an object onto a canvas and resizing, commiting and then resizing again you will lose quality, unless you convert to a smart object. Using Affinity Photo you don't need to do any of that, it retains the image quality regardless of resizing and doesn't need converting.

@gn53 We’re sorry to hear that your Affinity document is no longer opening for you. As you've provided the file I can pass it over to our developers to see if we can recover any of its contents. We would obviously also like some additional information to see if we can work out the cause of the problem and stop it happening in future. To assist this process, as well as uploading your file, please can you also tell us the following: What drive type was the file last saved to (select more than one if needed)? Local disk USB disk/Flash disk Google Drive folder OneDrive folder iCloud folder Dropbox folder Network location Other (please specify) We suggest that you check to see if you have any backups of the document available in case we’re unable to recover the file. The investigation process can take some time, but we’ll be back in contact with our findings.

Just done a test print from Designer 1.10.5 on macOS 12.2.1 (iMac) which printed without any issues. Can you try the steps below and then see if you can print from Affinity: Go into the Notes app or TextEdit and type anything Select to Print > Presets > Show Presets > Tick the box to Reset Presets Menu to "Default Settings" After Printing Continue to print Now launch Affinity Designer > Open a document > Select Print If it hasn't crashed > Select printer settings manually and not "Last Used Settings" > Continue to print Select Print again > Untick the reset option listed above

Hi @MaxV Welcome to the forums. That folder contains a number of different files for various tools and settings within the app, see this FAQ for more information. The file is opening fine without any crashes on my systems, apart from not having one of the fonts used installed (Haettenschweiler).

Bugs?
Lee D replied to Lucian Parshall's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
If the app is crashing, follow the steps in this FAQ article to retrieve the most recent crash reports to upload for checking. As it's pretty rare for an app to cause the system to shutdown due to how they run within macOS. The Canon EOS R3 isn't listed on our SerifLABS engine supported list, have you tried switching the RAW engine over to Apple CORE within the Develop personas Assistant as that is showing support for the EOS R3. -
Hi @LinShintia Dhanak Welcome to the forums. Our apps don't offer any translation, this would have to be done outside of the apps and then the data pasted in. Another issue is that we don't support RTL based languages, it may be an option added in the future but would require a rewrite of our text engine.

When we import into our app it opens the integrated Files app that's part of iPadOS. This gives you the option to import from local or cloud based storage if they're setup within the Files app. It usually requires to have the cloud service app also installed for them to add the option in Files, this is just how iPadOS is designed. The same applies to memory cards, if they are connected they will show in the Files app to be accessed via our app. In terms of Apple Photos as long as our app has access (set in Settings) you can import photos directly from our app or by tap dragging the image from Photos to our app.

Thanks for letting us know, I'd recommend first fully removing the app from your system. Drag it from Applications to the Trash and empty and then do another reboot of the OS. Once rebooted login to the store you purchased the app from and download a fresh copy an install. If the same occurs please upload another crash report for comparison.

The vector brushes don't have an option to turn off the anti-aliasing, it may be worth posting the suggestion in Feature Requests section. In reference to the custom brush node ends, it's not something I can replicate at the moment using your files but will continue to test and log if needed. I take it you don't have Metal compute enabled just to rule out any screen rendering issues?

Can you provide a copy of your document for testing?

We have this issue logged with our developers, for the moment the only workaround is to disable G-Sync for our app. Something to try, just in case is checking/changing the polling rate of your mouse as we ha a couple of reports of this awhile back which caused similar issues. Also, try installing the Studio river instead to see if this makes any difference.

@blackstoneWithout seeing this process occur it's hard to understand what may of happened. It's something that I can't replicate on macOS or Windows, is there any other information that you can provide. As @walt.farrell indicates, using File > Save will save to our native .afdesign format which allows everything such as layers to remain intact to be edited on reopening. Nothing should be converted to curves unless you choose to within the app before saving or if exporting to some formats.

Error when quickly adjusting the brush width and hardness.

Thanks for your report, I'll log this with the developers to investigate. -
Check to see if Hardware Acceleration is enabled within the apps Preferences > Performance. Can you provide an example of this happening?

Easy way to export
Lee D replied to Hattie30's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
Hi @Hattie30 Welcome to the forums. You already know the two export routes that can be taken within the app, there isn't a single button/option to export direct to JPEG. The quicker option is to use the Export option on the Document menu and from my experience it doesn't really take many taps and can be completed in under 10 seconds. -
Thanks for the report, this has been logged with the developers.
