Photo & PS Plugins
Lee D replied to AntonJ's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi AntonJ, Have a look at this link, it's to MEBs site and it lists which plugins currently work and don't work with Affinity Photo for Mac and Windows. Also Lightroom presets won't work with Affinity Photo as the app has different features and options to that of Lightroom. -
Straightening problem
Lee D replied to Vee's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Vee, After you have used the Straighten tool are you clicking the Apply button on the Context toolbar? If not when you try to Export to a new file it will revert back to before the straighten tool was used. -
Hi Beni, Welcome to the forums. At the moment the lens correction only applies itself when opening RAW files. You can open a JPEG and switch to the Develop persona, the lens correction won't apply. You can switch to the Lens tab and adjust the settings yourself manually.

Hi cinc, Welcome to the forums. I can't seem to reproduce the issue, on my system. I've assigned Adobe RGB icc profile to my image and imported into Apple Photos and then used the Edit in Affinity extension. When the image is opened in Affinity Photo it's still showing as having the Adobe RGB colour profile assigned. Can you provide a link to one of your images so I can test?

New computer
Lee D replied to Kahla's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Kahla, You may want to copy the downloaded installation files to an external drive or USB stick. Once you have your new computer, you can copy the files across to then run the installations again. You will then just need to enter the email address and product key that you was supplied in your emails or by logging into your Affinity store account. -
Hi usextjx, Welcome to the forums. As pixel rain suggests it could be related to a colour profile, do you have any setup? Also are you opening an image and seeing this or is it when you create a shape for example and set the colour? I'm assuming when you set the colour the colour sliders are set to 255,255,255 (RGB)

Templates?
Lee D replied to Ed5's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Ed5, Both apps have various size presets for screen sizes, devices, page/photo sizes for you to select. You can also create a custom sized document for a DVD case for example and then set guides to let you know positions where the spine folds will be. More presets may be added in the future, you can always request them in our Feature Requests section of the forum. -
Hi Kannan, Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear you're having issues installing Affinity Designer, from a clean boot up of your system. Have you tried right clicking the downloaded file and selecting to run as Admin? Try turning off any antivirus or firewall software that may be running, sometimes these can have an effect on installations.

Tool icons
Lee D replied to huion's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi huion, Welcome to the forums. At the moment the icon size can't be increased, this is something that has been requested and may be included in a future update. You can always change the option in System Preferences >Displays to something between Default and Larger text, however this will effect the OS and all apps. -
Hi Ferrero, Welcome to the forums. Can you try the following, this should give full permission to the reg key that the installer is attempting to update. Other users may find that it shows a different extension, the steps will be the same just select the correct extension from the list. 1, Press the Windows key + R to open the Run window 2, Type regedit and press Enter 3, Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\ 4, Locate .tga and right click and select Permissions 5, Select the Administrators group, you should be a member of this group. In the Permissions section below, opposite Full Control check the Allow box 6, Click Apply and close regedit Now run the setup for Affinity Photo again, hopefully this time it completes. If not follow the steps again and revert the changes made.

Hi velarde, Photo supports artboards as it has the same back end coding as Designer. But the option to create is only in Designer as Photo doesn't really need them. If you export a project with artboards designed in Affinity Designer to PSD and then open in Photoshop the artboards and their content will still exist. However they are essentially groups of objects on a layer but they can still be adjusted.

color icc
Lee D replied to larsh's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi larsh, If you open Affinity Photo, then Preferences > Colour Profiles, you can set the RGB colour profile that the app uses. So if you want you can set it to Adobe RGB (1998). You can also assign or convert the images colour profile from the Document menu dropdown.
