File Management
Lee D replied to vpcllc100's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi vpcllc100, Welcome to the forums. Affinity Photo isn't a file manager or organiser, it's a RAW developer and photo editor. We have plans on developing and releasing our own version of a DAM application in the future. Which you will be able to use to organise and manage your image collections. In the meantime you could use Apple Photos, I've used Darktable in the past, which is open source. -
Hi Alberto, Welcome to the forums. Once you had made the adjustment in Photo, I'm assuming you brought it back into Designer and saved? Can you see the black & white adjustment in Designer, just not when exporting? and which format are you exporting to? Can you PM me a link to your file, so I can take a look?

Sensor dust
Lee D replied to Hson278's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Harry, Welcome to the forums. Affinity Photo doesn't have a tool like the one in Lightroom, it has been previously requested, so it may be added in the future. We have a tutorial available that does touch on the subject of removing sensor dust spots (Around 3:40). -
AD Batch Convert
Lee D replied to Mr. K's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Mr.K, You'll need to open each file as Affinity Designer reads the embedded PDF that AI includes in the file (If the option was enabled when it was saved in AI). Designer also doesn't have any batch open/convert options. -
Scanning
Lee D replied to NormanStanley's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi NormanStanley, If you're using Affinity Photo on macOS, use File > Acquire, it will use the built in feature of macOS. @MEB also posted with regards to Affinity Photo for Windows, it doesn't have an acquire option. It's recommended to use the software that came with your scanner to scan your image and save. You can then use Affinity Photo to open the image to start editing. -
Hi LeviA, Affinity doesn't have an option for a opacity jitter yet, it's something thats been previously requested and may be added as a future feature. You may want to have a read of this post by Alfred for a similar setup.

Hi affi.usr, Welcome to the forums. The content of the help is current for Affinity Photo 1.5, it may receive minor refinements in future updates. The help will be updated to include new features added for the 1.6 update which is expected around easter. We have our Designer Workbook, however this is only available as a hard copy, we may look into releasing a digital version sometime in the future.

Lee D replied to Johann Kott's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)

Healing tool
Lee D replied to mcorl's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi mcorl, Welcome to the forums. Make sure you have the correct layer selected beforehand. With the Blemish and Healing Brush, you should only be seeing the crosshair showing the source and the brush showing where abouts it going to cover. Can you send me a screenshot of what you see on screen (circles, double circles, vectors. -
Hi Allezmike, Welcome to the forums. Affinity Photo is a RAW developer and photo editor, it isn't for organizing your images, as it's not a digital asset manager. Once you have done adjusting your image in Affinity Photo, you will then have to Save to our native file format (afphoto) or Export to JPG,PNG,PSD,TIFF etc. If you save to our native format, no other app apart from Photo will be able to open the files and you would have to manually organise them.

Hi hrairkhoshafian, Welcome to the forums. When you're exporting are you selecting any particular settings? On the PDF Export dialog click More, change the Rasterise option to Everything, does this allow the export to complete? Try changing/checking the colour format: Go to File->Document setup-> Color tab -> Change colour format drop down Change to RGB/16 or CMYK/8 depending on what you need to have the format set to. We also have an updated beta available for Designer for Windows, you can download and try exporting your PDF from that version. Keep your existing version installed as the beta checks for it. If you still have the issue can you upload your .afdesign file to Dropbox or something similar and PM a link so I can take a look on my system.

Hi TerryNick, Welcome to the forums. Can you confirm which model of Sony you have, as testing with a .ARW file taken on a A7R II has a thumbnail preview. Do you get a thumbnail in Finder?
