I'd recommend giving the latest betas a try and report back if you're still having issues, you can download them from here.

Can you do a screen recording showing the issue, and in the first screen shot. It seems to show third party brushes, does this only occur with them or with the default brushes as well?

For a multipage document you can adjust each using the Spread Setup, select the spread you wish to adjust and change the overall sizes. As Publisher doesn't have any templates for folded documents at the moment, I assume you have set one up just using guides. It will be a case of adjusting these to suit any adjustment required.

If you're getting similar results in other apps it may be related to the printer driver/OS as most apps will just pass on the data. Whats happening when you print using Affinity?

missing images

Are the images that disappear embedded or linked in your Publisher file? Can you provide a link to the file so it can be checked, if the file private you can send me a link in a PM. -
Are you wanting to export from Designer as PNG or PDF, both options are available on the Export window. If something else can you expand on the issue.

Wont Generate Exports

@PoonGoat I've had success exporting your file to PDF & SVG both from the desktop & iPad version of Designer. However this was using the latest 1.8 betas as in the current public 1.8 the exporting seems to get stuck on the file size. If you need to file I can send it to you in a PM.- 2 replies

There are some options available for the Baseline Grid on the Text Frame panel. More options may be added in future updates.

I've been opening the PDF file in other apps to see how they handle it and it's the same. Opened in Adobe Illustrator, note that the background has also been broken into tiles, this also happens in Publisher so I suspect this was due to the app that created the original. It may involve more work but I would consider correcting the issues such as the text and tiled background using Publisher and then export to a new PDF file Sorry for the disappointing news.

@thegary Check the following locations if you have updated from 1.7 to 1.8: Windows: The first location is the installed directory (.../Resources/Affinity Designer/) The second location is inside the user data folder - the location of which depends on what type of application they have (see below for Designer's). This location stores any custom brushes that have been made or imported, and any customisations to the default brushes are also stored in here. These are also kept inraster_brushes.propcol and vector_brushes.propcol, so when the app loads it loads the files from both locations. Note that if it cannot read those from the install directory then you will see lots of blank spaces in the Brushes Panel where the default brushes lived - I believe you've had this with other users before where a repair fixed the problem.

What kind of issue have you been experiencing when opening existing files in 1.8? Have you tried the latest Designer beta (I recommend making some copies of your files to test opening with)

It may be the document was saved with an issue(s) that Publisher 1.8 can't open. If you can, upload the file here so it can be looked at, if the file is private, send me a download link in a PM.

Our developers are still looking into this and similar related issues. You may want to bump your original post, just in case.

If you're using a Live Unsharp Mask can you just try unlinking it from the layer it's applied to, then trying Merge Visible again to see if the result is different.

The kerning will need to be manually adjusted, it may be something within the .IDML file that our imported is having trouble reading/converting. Balance ragged lines isn't a feature we currently support and have any current plans to add, but you never know for the future.

Can you try starting a new blank document, insert some shapes and try using Spacebar to switch to panning as I haven't been able to reproduce the locking up. Would you be able to do a short screen recording showing the panning issue?
