Leigh, yes, I did check the finder settings. The funny thing is: I left my Macbook running overnight. Today, when I checked the files, all show up with preview icons even on the interior HD. Now that is a miracle ;)

Thanks, MEB, for the warm welcome. Could you please point me to a method for editing ApplePhoto pictures? Or is it within the help files? (Maybe I'd search through the forums more thoroughly, but this search flood limitation thing ...;) regards, Chris.

I do understand correctly, this works with iPhoto. However, Apples new Photos App does not?

Dear friends on this forum, I am a new user to Affinity Photo, using the AppStore version (1.3.5) on OSX 10.11.1. I have a late2011 MacbookPro17". Whenever I save a file to the iCloud folder, I can see previews in Finders icon view. However, when I move or save them to my local HD, the files show the purple app icon instead. Is this behaviour a problem of my setup or a known "bug"? Besides that, thanks for the nice piece of software! kind regards, Chris
