JT_Allen got a reaction from Unforgiven in No privacy friendly OS support? No money of mine!
What follows won't happen until next year (No ETA yet), but I am willing to be a linux Zorin OS Beta tester for Serif and their affinity software to help with this issue. I just need to purchase a dedicated linux laptop from Star Labs with Zorin OS Pro pre-installed. Here is the link to Star Labs, I will be buying from next year:
https://us.starlabs.systems/pages/starfighter - High Spec: 2000GB SSD / 16", 10-Core intel chip / High Spec Ryzen 7 Chip. I will be using ZorinOS Pro.
I don't mind being a beta tester for Serif and their Affinity Trio on linux as I am able. For Reference, here is one hollywood focused company that produces professional grade software for those studios using Linux OS for their needs: https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve
Black Magic Design has Hollywood production quality software available for linux OSes. So, no excuses these days. I highly recommend Serif talk to Black Magic Design on creating software for Linux OSes. @Patrick Connor

JT_Allen got a reaction from Snapseed in After Effects Alternative
The Affinity Team has no plans to make an after effects alternative. They are strictly focusing Photo, Designer and Publisher. They may also be working an adobe Bridge alternative, but don't quote me on it. As for after effects alternatives, I know at least one open source alternative, called "Natron"
If you happen to be looking for an alternative video editor as well, there is an open source software for that as well, here: "Open Shot"
If you have any other questions, just tag me and I will respond back asap.

Yes, I have the context toolbar active, in both Photo & Designer.
Edit: The "Controller" option doesn't even show up when the Paint Brush Tool is active.

I found an earlier thread discussing the topic from last year, however not of the fixes work; I tried all of them except for one solution I am having trouble with.
When I have the paint brush tool active in Affinity Photo & Affinity Designer (Publisher?), the "controller" function does not even show, so I can't change the setting for it to "pressure" at all. It is like the controller function doesn't even exist.
OS: MacOS 11 Big Sur (Most recent update)
    Affinity Trio: 1.9+ Updated
Tablet: Wacom Intuos Pro Large Paper Edition (2017); Updated to most recent driver edition
    Please help with this.

I figured it out by playing with the software. Getting pressure sensitivity is on a per brush basis. With the Paint Brush Tool selected (Affinity Photo & Affinity Designer), select your appropriate pixel brush in the brush panel, next click on "More" in the context toolbar, and go to the "Dynamics" category for the brush, then:
    - Set size jitter to 90% (personal preference) and Flow Jitter to 50% (personal preference); set both to Pressure. Affinity Photo & Designer will remember these settings after you quit both of them and open them later. These settings are on a per brush basis.

I am very happy there will be an iPad version of affinity publisher as well coming next year. I am so happy for no more need for adobe. I am also royally shocked at the workflow improvement as seen in the live keynote. That is serious workflow efficiency. In-App advanced adjustments on the page in preview mode. Thanks again to the Serif Team.

For my needs, launching the Publisher app is well timed. Now I don't need to rely on adobe subscription software at all. I can now create all the graphics, ebooks, and artwork for my Wholistic Artist LLC business without adobe. Yahoo! Thank you Serif Team for creating these apps, they feel way more intuitive and less mangled than photoshop, illustrator & indesign.

How many of you would be interested in including AppleScript functionality for Batch processing in Photo, Basic Template Creation is Designer and automated Catalogue/Book Creation in Publisher?

The key is to automate repetitive tasks and let you focus more on the finer details on creative work?

I am a bit of an AppleScript fanatic and like to automate certain things to free up my mind for the refining process of creative work.

Adobe used to have AppleScript functionality built-in to their design apps (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) before, but now I am not so sure since they went and made Creative Cloud (I don't like subscription software).

The intention of this proposed feature is only to automate the basic repetitive tasks for batch work and creating ready-made template designs in fewer steps and free up the creative mind for higher level work such as refinement of a project; in a smaller phrase to be more efficient with your time.

@Old Bruce Thank you for providing more clear instructions. That solution fixed the app image problem. It also fixed the same problem on a few of my other apps as well.
To every one else reading this, no further help is needed. Problem solved.

Thanks @MEB for the update. I am definitely very patient with this software. I am very happy you guys decided to create the Affinity software trio. Many graphic designers and illustrators (myself included) are jumping for joy that we won't have to rely on Adobe anymore, especially when you guys belt out features that bring us closer to breaking the Adobe monopoly.
Keep the hard work and earning more awards for your software. Well worth all the hard work you guys do for us.

I checked the available options for the Stock Panel in Affinity Photo and can only see "shutter stock" as available. It would be wonderful if there were many more than just one option. One addition I would like is for Story Blocks images database to be included as well.

Here is the link to Story Blocks: https://www.storyblocks.com/stock-image

I have included an attachment of the Stock Panel to show you what I am referring to.

If anyone else has requests for image databases to be included, please list them here to avoid unnecessary duplicate threads expanding on this feature.

Hehe, Adobe is getting mighty nervous. When the Affinity Suite reaches its full potential through updates, the majority of graphic designers and digital artists will probably shift over and put a noticeable dent in Adobe's profits for creative cloud. I don't like paying for software I don't use. The only separate plan Adobe has is for photographers, not for graphic designers. I got both Workbooks on my desk right now. Since Digital art is a hobby right now, I am not required to use photoshop. Thank to the Serif Team I can export as a photoshop file when I decide to do digital art full time.

Thank you for sharing this @AffinityAppMan ! After I get through being well developed with traditional drawing, I am going to solely use the affinity photo, designer, and publisher. This is a perfect complement until Serif makes their own DAM. I am really glad you shared this tool.
