  1. Looks great! I would love to see a colour version...
  2. Nice work! Personally I would make all the existing black strokes 100% black, just to make it "pop" more.
  3. Hello everybody. So in the never ending quest to try and find my own "style" I decided to try something a bit abstract. I really enjoyed creating this piece as I wasn't really tied to light and shadow, just shapes that I think look good together. I would love some input and advice as I think I might continue with this style to see where it goes. Thank you!
  4. Thanks a lot George, A compliment indeed coming from a man with your skill set! Hard to say how long it took, I'm on extended paternity leave, so in between buggie pushing and nappie changing I try to do little bits, I would estimate about 20 hours? Thats time on the mac not including the sketching. I'm not sure if thats slow or fast but it doesn't feel fast to be honest. Craig.
  5. Thanks Peter, I do hope to make a scene similar to this on a larger scale, just needs some thought....
  6. Finally found time to finish something! Simple sketch scanned in then given the Affinity magic. The end result is quite different but hopefully for the better. Thanks for viewing!
  7. For sure an improvement, cant wait to see more.
  8. Great stuff, another one to add to the clan!
  9. Thanks George! I agree the hand needs work, its funny you should mention it, I've spent the last two days trying to draw hands and feet, I think its an area I need to improve a lot! I would hope that maybe one day a publisher might be interested in my work but for now its just a side project to improve my skills. I might just create one or two Christmas designs a month amongst other things. Just ordered two a4 isometric grid drawing pads...I dont know why this excites me so much! Thanks.
  10. cool, it would look good with some saloon doors behind him.
  11. What a great image, a feast for the eyes!
  12. Top drawer quality right here, colours, details, composition, all great.
  13. Nice looking render, personally I would increase the reflection on the wood, also the barrels look like they are lit in bright sunshine but the wall behind looks like its night. The metal looks good.
  14. Indeed! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
  15. My word, finding out Santa doesn't exist was bad enough, this is too much! Obviously I need to research and speak to any possible future publishers regarding copyright issues. Thankfully there's still plenty of content I could create, snowmen, robins, turkeys.....
  16. Thanks for the reply specworkfan, to be honest I never considered any copyright issues, I'm not entirely sure how it works but perhaps not using the name Rudolph anywhere would suffice? Surely its pretty much Christmas folklore by now?
  17. Thank you very much people! Number three is starting to swirl around my mind as we speak...
