DDBBKK got a reaction from Bim in Raw files from Aperture?
When importing raw files from aperture to AP,when they show up in AP they're jpegs not raw files.Same thing happens when I move them to the desktop then to AP. When in AP/file/open/import a raw file from Finder to AP,it opens as a raw file in AP-that's the only way it works. How can I directly import raw files from Aperture to AP and have them open as raw ,not jpegs? I probably have something setup wrong, can someone help me out? Thanks!

    Hi DDBBKK,
As far as i know it's not possible to send multiple images to Facebook at once inside Affinity Photo.

    Hi DDBBKK,

By the looks of the Apple Support Forums Aperture should work fine with El Capitan :)

Yes this is a very important feature. The Aperture database is excellent. The features of search and all the tagging options are one of the primary reasons why pro users love it.
Now if it's dead in the water, this will provide Serif with an excellent opportunity to profit from the disaffected users. So please make sure that the media management is up to scratch. So far very impressed.

When opening an image in the Photos library, is there a way to select the RAW instead of the JPEG?

Use any you listed but jpg.
I export the original RAW file from Aperture to a directory. Then I open that file in Affinity Photo. That way I am working with the camera's RAW file. When finished, I import a jpg of the finished photo back into Aperture. That way I have more control over where the file is stored. My library is split between the Mac drive and an external drive.
Why jpg? I won't be doing anything but viewing it. All editing will be done with Affinity Photo.

These are brilliant. One quick suggestion: publish the key steps in addition to the video; it would make it much easier to remember the tips. For example, on the selective sharpening:
create a new live layer with a high pass filter, check monochrome, set blend mode to linear light invert the layer paint in the adjustment using the paint brush set to white Otherwise, keep adding to these tutorials as they really encourage me to use and enjoy Photo!

    Happy Monday to you all,

Just following up on a few comments over the last few days.

The Designer list seems to have been appreciated. I'll mark newly added content with a 'Date Added' suffix. I'll not add "New"  as things get confusing once you've replaced a lot of videos!!!
Tutorial photos - we don't plan to make these available to download, although i'd like to explore a more 'hands on' approach to learning with sample files in future.
     Tutorials
Incorporating vector design into Affinity Photo. We are planning to have a tutorial which looks at using shapes, text, and closed curves to create selections and masks. Of course, you can create vector content as in Designer - see shape and pen tool vids. In terms of blending, vector content can be blended with layers below just like blending pixel layer over pixel layer.
Highlighting cursors better. We've got several ways of doing this in our video editing software. Some look a bit cheesy and potentially more off putting that the benefit of using cursor highlighting.  Investigations underway.
Video lists directly on the website. Good idea - i'll pass comment on to the web team.  Thanks for all comments.

I sat down and went through a numbers of the tutorials which are as excellent as I expected, having used Designer and now Affinity Photo (Betas thru RTM). Thank you very much for whisking me through the important points and designing such excellent videos.

For those of us who are using the programs on MacBooks, I am being bold in requesting that it might be easier for us (me) to follow if the cursor movements in the videos could be highlighted when they stop and pick a tool (like a brief red circle highlight) because I was paying so much attention to the dialog that it was a bit hard to follow the cursor and tool choices movements.

Perhaps it was because I was more anticipating seeing what 'magic' you have created with the tools and listening to the clear distinguish dialog, that I missed some movements across the screen. I really did not want to stop the tutorial because it was so excellent and logical in its flow.

Smugly, I should think that you could whip out a development copy of your upcoming Affinity Video - (? grin ?) and use the magic 'follow action' tool!

You're welcome  ^_^ It took me some time to get used to it in the beginning too and i know a few users have reported the same as you, but overall i believe most people get used after using the app for a while. Try it for a few more weeks and let us know how it goes and if it still gives you trouble.

    Hi DDBBKK,
No, there's no way to to turn it off. That's by design so you can easily pan around.
It takes a little to get used to but it ends up being helpful. At least that was my experience.
Is it giving you trouble or are you just getting started with the application?

DDBBKK reacted to MEB in Importing Raw,but it's not.
    Hi DDBBKK,
    Welcome to Affinity Forums
Don't drag the images from Aperture or open them from the Media section in the open dialog window. That's the reason they are coming as JPG's.

In Aperture press ⌘ (cmd) + ⇧ (shift) + S to export the orginals (RAW) to Finder, then open them in Affinity Photo using File ▸ Open.
There no other way to get the RAW out of Aperture. You can however set it to use Affinity Photo as an external editor in Aperture Preferences. The files will be sent as TIFF´s or PSD's in 8 or 16bit (this can be set in the Aperture's Preferences too) but currently there's still some file format compatibility (TIFF) and workflow (PSD) issues preventing it from working as it should.
