  1. Super weird. I highlight a plus sign, and select superscript in typography, but the plus sign is not superscript-ed? This used to work, I'm not sure when it broke? Also another weirdness with superscript - if I change the typography to superscript with no text selected, it randomly superscripts certain characters in the middle of a word for no apparent reason. Very bizarre. I'm using 1.7.2 on Mac. Here is a screen recording: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g7kb6p12rybzzww/superscript_bug.mov?dl=0 The different superscript function in positioning/transform seems to work fine. I'm not sure why there are two? Perhaps I'm missing something and this is not a bug after all, but it is definitely not the behavior I would expect. Cheers Oli
  2. Thanks @MEB! Hmmm - that's probably the only way, but it doesn't seem very flexible at the moment - e.g. if I always have the same number of layers it is okay, but there's no way that I can tell to for example create a macro and then tweak the extent of the varied gaussian filter radius, or the number of layers that it is applied to. It would be useful to be able to set variables in macros for this purpose, or to have conditional actions - e.g. if the document has ten layers, perform action for bottom 5, decreasing the strength of the filter by "x" px each time. Thanks for the help! Cheers Oli
  3. Hi @MEB Depth of field just fakes the effect - blurring everything but for a specific region in a flat layer, as I understand it, which is not what I want. I have individual layers (10-20) corresponding to different focal planes, which I want to apply a filter of varying strength to. How does one automate this using a macro? Cheers Oli
  4. Hi, Is there any way to progressively apply a single filter to all layers, with the strength varying by layer? I have been using Gaussian blur to mimic a depth of field effect in a multilayer image (e.g attached), by applying progressively stronger Gaussian blur (and brightness adjustment) to the layers further away from the desired focus point. Unfortunately in AP at present this is quite tedious, as it requires going though each layer and manually changing the gaussian blur radius. Is there (or will there be) any way to automate a process like this? It would be very useful! Cheers Oli
  5. Hi, in AD 1.6b10, if I change the opacity of an image to zero, it is no longer possible to select that object with the mouse (either by clicking on it or using a selection box), though it is still possible to select the object in the layers panel. This seems like a bug? Cheers Oli
  6. Hi, See attached movie - a ghost of the text object to be resized remains during resizing. This only happens with text (not shapes), and only when the text object is resized for the first time - subsequent resize operations do not show the same behaviour. This doesn't happen in earlier betas or the stable release. I am using Mac OS X 10.12.6, on a 13" MBP retina, early 2015 model. Cheers Oli text_bug.mov
  7. Hi, I would *really* like to have an option for Designer to default to exporting the selected area, rather than the whole document. At present every time I want to export an object or selection (which is most of the time), I have to use the dropdown menu to change it to just export the area, and I often forget. Cheers Oli
  8. Hi Matt, I remember someone else reporting the same thing, but it was quite some time ago and I can't find the post now... Now that you mention it, I am using MagicPrefs, which I use to set middle-click to a three finger click - maybe that is it? It doesn't happen all the time, but I encounter it at least once every couple of sessions. Cheers Oli
  9. Not sure how to describe this exactly, but it is a minor bug that has persisted as long as I have been using AD, and is still present in AD 1.6B2 When I create a new object, or sometimes resize an existing object ( the exact trigger is not clear), quite often AD will start panning towards the upper lefthand corner of the canvas, without my volition. Attempting to pan back using the touchpad (I am using a 2015 Macbook pro 13") doesn't fix the problem - it keeps trying to pan towards the upper lefthand corner entirely of its own accord. If I click on another tool or another area of the canvas, this usually breaks the cycle. Anyone else see the same behaviour? Cheers Oli
  10. This would still be great to see - if not scale to viewable area, at least having an option to automatically resize to fit the canvas would be good. Cheers Oli
  11. This issue still persists in AD 1.6 B1 - not a big deal but just looks kind of messy. Cheers Oli
  12. Recently, I have been getting an error when loading the beta that I need to purchase a retail copy of designer - but I of course have a retail copy of AD, and the beta was working fine until recently. Has this beta expired, and if so is there an updated one available that I have missed? Cheers Oliver.
  13. When placing a high resolution image in a relatively small canvas in AD, often it will be much larger than the canvas, necessitating zooming out and adjusting the size of the image. This can be time consuming when inserting many images at different scales. It would be very helpful to have an option to automatically scale the inserted image to the area currently being viewed - this would be very useful when inserting a high resolution image in a small area of the canvas (as the scale would only require minor adjustments). Thanks for a fantastic app, and hope you all enjoy a well deserved break over the holidays! Cheers Oliver.
  14. I have only seen this in AD, and only since I installed the latest beta - but you're right, it could certainly be OS related
  15. I've just had the same experience - it was working fine in other apps, but stopped working in both the app store version and the beta of AD - hopefully it will go back to normal upon restarting. Cheers Oliver
  16. Well that's embarrassing, can't believe I didn't see that! Thanks!! Oliver.
  17. Hi, I often need to make multiple versions of the same overall design, usually consisting of an image with labels, shapes and assorted other markup. It would be very convenient if AD had a way to replace an existing image, attempting as much as possible to match the scale used in the document. Currently I need to open each image separately, match the scale manually and then delete the old image. Cheers Oliver.
  18. Well - not just aesthetic reasons. Both overlapping labels are unreadable. Better to have one shown than both, doesn't really matter which (at least one will be legible then) - but agree that would get complicated very fast. Perhaps there could be an internal hierarchy of which measurements ought to take precedence when overlapping? In the same way that the grid lines automatically reconfigure with zoom level, it would seem that an analogous mechanism might be worth considering for measurement labels? Oliver.
  19. Purely a cosmetic issue, but have noticed it in the last several betqs so thought I might as well report it - see attached movie. Basically when making a shape, or sometimes selecting an image or other object, then moving the cursor to the color studio panel to alter something, the cursor changes to the "horizontal resize" cursor and stays there while hovering over the studio. Doesn't change anything - the cursor still works - but it looks weird. Cheers Oliver cursor_weirdness.mov
  20. See attached movie - when moving text, I see overlapping (and hence illegible) measurements. I guess these are measuring different things - maybe text baseline vs bounding box - but maybe their presence/absence should change with zoom level? It looks a little messy as is. Cheers Oliver. overlapping_measurements.mov
  21. Hi - not sure if this is a bug or working as intended. Cmd+`, which usually switches tabs, doesn't do so when editing text. I sometimes would like it to do so when I want to quickly check whether a label matches something else that I have open, and then go straight back to editing text. Cheers Oliver.
  22. It is a pretty frequent case for me, when I have a figure with multiple layers (which are usually images with some transparent parts) and several labels that I need to edit. I can bring the label to the front after selecting it and then edit it, it just seems like if a label is selectable, double-clicking ought to allow for editing (unless there is some reason this behaviour is undesirable). Cheers Oliver.
  23. On that point - probably I am missing something here also - when a text box is several layers down, and I select it using alt-click, there doesn't seem to be anyway to edit the text without bringing it to the front (or at least double-clicking/double alt-clicking doesn't seem to work) - is this the intended behaviour or is there an easier way?
