I have tried all four Auto Buttons on the toolbar and I see no change in the image. Am I missing something? Thanks.

The Crop Tool in Photo Persona has a reset button. However, the Crop Tool in Develop Persona does not. Why is that? How do you cancel an in-process crop?

In Photo Persona a dialog box appears so you can name/describe a Snapshot when adding a Snapshot. Kindly add this capability to Develop Persona. Thanks.

In Photo Persona a Zoom Popup appears when you right click within the image for the View and Zoom tool. Kindly add this feature for the View and Zoom tool within Develop Persona. Thanks.

I found the problem. There is a conflict between Affinity Photo and Popclip which is a menu app. So, what is the next step? Should I submit a bug report as this is a very useful utility? Thank you for your help!!

Sequence:
1) Launch Affinity Photo
2) File/Open any RAW image
3) Select Overlay Gradient Tool then click drag and release
At this juncture the Gradient is replaced by the Crop Grid and the Crop Tool is highlighted. I then click on the Overlay Gradient Tool and the Gradient reappears. This behavior is consistent on my iMac and Macbook Pro both running El Capitan 10.11.1

This issue is universal with all my photos. I shoot with a Nikon D7200.
Here is a dropbox link - https://www.dropbox.com/s/kpc3s5a3khmlapg/Test.NEF?dl=0
As an FYI, I downloaded some sample .nef files from the internet and all these files exhibit the same issue. Hence, it is not an issue unique to my camera.

Should I post this issue in Bugs?

Newbie question - Is there a function within the Develop Persona that is similar to the HSL function within Adobe Camera Raw? Thanks.
-
Actually (Press and hold ⌃(ctrl) while launching Affinity Photo, then select Clear from the dialog) this is not a permanent solution. It works, but if you relaunch AP then the issue prevails.

Yes it resolved the issue. Thanks.

I purchased/installed Affinity Photo a few days ago. It is installed on my iMac and MacBook Pro both running El Capitan. Yes, I have always had this issue on both my iMac and MacBook Pro. My camera is a Nikon D7200.

I open a raw file and then select the Overlay Gradient Tool within Develop Persona. I then click and drag. When I release the mouse button the Crop Tool Button is highlighted and the Crop Grid appears on my image. Why is that?

Please consider adding a Targeted Adjustment Tool to Develop Persona in Affinity Photo. Thanks.

Is there a tool which is similar to the Targeted Adjustment Tool in Adobe Camera Raw? Thanks.

OK, it appears the perspective tool does that but the Help is not much Help. I will continue to experiment.
