  1. To Paul M, that works beautifully, thanks! To the developers, why exactly must we resort to this? Wouldn’t an option to choose be best? Also, to the developers, this is a lovely app, vital to my workflow, both on MacOS and iPadOS. Many thanks and stay safe, Rory
  2. When opening an edited Apple Photos on my iPad (11"), AP opens the unedited version, forcing me to export the edited version to a file then reopening that instead. Why won't AP respect Apple Photos' edits? Rory (All apps, OSes updated)
  3. I got it! I read the help files. It’s not an easy thing to find. Maybe make the Pages function be ON by default, or switched via preference just so it can be found. love all apps, btw. be safe during these times
  4. That’s not helping me. opening an apub file in designer for iPad allows me to work on a single spread only. how do I set up my designer app, on iPad, to work on all the spreads the same way as the Mac designer app can? thanks
  5. Even though I can open an apub file in designer for iPad, it seems only 1 spread is available. Doing the same on my Mac, all the spreads are available. is the iPad version of designer crippled in some way? Or, what am I doing wrong? btw, all apps updated to latest as of apr 5, 2020 thanks
  6. I’m equally puzzled by the lack of the source panel after creating a stack. As said above, it renders the tool useless. Please, in an update, add the source panel as implemented in the macOS version and make the focus stacking tool useful again. R
  7. This (image attached) is the 'bloom' I'm referring to. On MacOS, this is easy to remove (even if a bit time consuming). On my iPad, I have no good way of getting rid of this. If I've missed something, please let me know. R (iPad 11, latest iOS and Affinity Apps)
  8. My issue is with the iPad app, not the MacOS app—which has the sources panel open automatically, the 1.7 version too. Where is the source panel in the iPad app?
  9. In the 1.7 iPad app, I cannot find the source panel after a focus merge. Without one, I can’t clean up the ‘bloom’ around some edges. This is vital to clean images. It is available in the macOS version, at least the 1.6 version. r
  10. Ah-Ha! There it is. And it works perfectly. Bravo! I guess, since I was using the MAS versions for a while, I didn't see it added. This alone will save me seconds of frustration (really, just seconds?). Remember, it adds up. BTW, AD and AP have completely eliminated Adobe PS/IL from my workflow. Since I create books, I can't wait for Publisher. An aside: I know what you're doing is not easy. Thanks.
  11. I agree. I frequently have to crop to specific ratios. Adding them as presets works, but once selected, the outline doesn't stay at that ratio unless I'm very careful when repositioning or resizing. Too often it changes and I have to begin all over again. Could we have the outline "lock" to the selected ratio while resizing?
  12. Designer crashes if you create a folder on export. I know this and have experienced it many times. I've learned to create my folders first, then export. Somewhere, I think I commented on this a while back. R
  13. I've re-downloaded and everything works. Thanks. (Yes, I do have both installed)
  14. I'm getting the same message as Tim Gummer. I've tried running the MAS app then the beta—no go. Is there a solution to this? I have the last MAS version and latest beta.
  15. I've been experiencing AP exporting issues (gone now) and wonder if this is related. I did not experience a crash. In fact, everything looked normal, except the exported file never materialized. No file was created. R BYW, latest beta and Yosemite (not .3)
  16. I'm not sure what happen to my exports. Today it works fine, after a reboot. The file was created in AD and a jpg made from that. AP could not export (after adjustments) export to png or jpg. I had to revert to a third-party solution. Today, still wondering what happened, I tried again. Voila, it exports perfectly. I'll file it under "glitch" and move on. BTW, I've nearly converted all my workflow to Affinity (A or P). All I need now is Publisher because most of my work eventually ends up as ebooks and PDF press-ready files (and the files I need for web, covers etc. all stuff surrounding ebooks and marketing). R
  17. I'm having trouble exporting. I'm running Yosemite, latest version (not beta) and I cannot export to jpg or png. I haven't tried other formats. I know earlier versions exported fine. The file saved okay. Just the export (whole doc) failed. R
  18. I've got the MAS version installed and it works very well for me. It's my go-to app for my next graphic mini-book. However, 1. Should I download the latest betas (is it worth it?)? (don't you just love the 2 ?s) 2. Is the photo app nearing a beta or MAS state? 3. As I've said before, my primary need is Publisher. This is not a question, just a 'can't wait' comment. R
  19. I've just bought Designer and I'm enjoying it thoroughly. However, I'm actually most excited over Publisher. Since Designer is out of beta, did you mean Publisher and Photo betas are coming soon? (Please say yes!)
  20. I'm delighted to see something like Affinity Designer come to the app store. However, it's the promise of Affinity Publisher that really works for me. I'm a writer/publisher. I need good software to create press-ready PDFs and clean EPUBs for both novels and children's book (image laden). If Affinity Publisher can do this, I will be the first in line to buy. Right now my workflow is littered with Adobe products (which I cannot wait to ditch) and various other application to fill in the gaps. At times, it's not pretty. From what I see so far, the combination of AD and AP should handle everything from cover design to finished files. Can't wait for AP to show up. Rory deon.ca
