Ok - sounds like a work-around. My current project is a map for navigation and i have to place 100s of tiny labels (signs) on it. These labels are all individual, so it is not an option do create images of them first.
Every other aspect of Designer is just brilliant for me. It's fast, its precise, its neat!
Maybe one day we will get text frames that support stroke and fill (and maybe even frame styles). Also, if the frame becomes visible, it will be important how text position relates to the frame (margins, alignment).
