I’ve been working on these concepts for an upcoming table top Role playing Game setting from Postmortem Studios. It’s been a very fun project so far.

Cotton Candy sellers here walk with a really tall pole that's covered in small bags of various coloured cotton candy. My favourite is, of course, the pink colour.

Have you tried the Data Merge Vector Pattern workaround in publisher? it's helped me out a few times and is pretty useful although not available through Designer alone (I always use Designer via Publisher StudioLink for 95% --- game changer) see screen grab in practice

I thought this might help a few people as a workaround. It can be slow so start small.
How to vector pattern fill using tools in Affinity Designer 1.9
lets fill a circle with a vector pattern as an example.
    - create a circle
    - now create a small box that will contain your pattern template
    - within the box area draw anything you like (make a smaller box with a different colour for testing)
    - select the box and everything inside it and create a group
    - with the new group selected turn it into a symbol (using symbol panel)
    - drag the new symbol from the symbol panel onto your page and create a grid of symbols
    - select all the grid symbols and copy/cut them
    - now select the circle and paste them inside with control+alt+v
    - you now have a live vector pattern that can be changed on the fly including drawing inside it.

I'm over the moon to tell you about the launch of Affinity Spotlight, the new place to go for creative inspiration, learning resources and Affinity news. Whether it’s features on artists and photographers using Affinity, tutorials on how to get the best from the apps, behind-the-scenes insight or news and updates, it will all be posted on Affinity Spotlight.

We’ve literally just made the site live and we’d love you to check it out!

This has been a real labour of love for our web dev team and our content team, and of course, this is just the start—we’ll be posting new stories and articles each week. We hope you like what we’ve done and enjoy reading our stories.

    Hi All,
When much of the world went into lockdown last year we put a few things in place to try to offer some support to the creative community. In the big scheme of things they were fairly small gestures I guess, but we were quite overwhelmed by the positive feedback we received about it.
In particular the 90-day trial of all our apps provided a big help for people who may have lost access to their normal tools through their work or university, and offering a deep 50% discount on our apps was also greatly appreciated.
We reverted back to our normal trial length and pricing as those initial restrictions eased and the situation felt like it was improving. However here in the UK we are back in full national lockdown and in many countries restrictions are tight and livelihoods continue being severely affected as we deal with the second wave of this virus. For that reason, we have decided to re-introduce both our 90-day trial and 50% discount on all our apps and digital content (unfortunately the relatively small margins we have on workbooks means we cannot offer the discount on those). We have also reset the 90-day trial so anyone who took advantage of it before can do so again.
The thoughts of all of us at Serif remain with everyone affected by this crisis and we wish you all the best.
    Ash

    Hello everyone,
I made 3 stickers some time ago about the Affinity suite. I only shared them on Dribbble and Instagram, but now I think it's time to do it on this forum.
What do you think of it?

Thought I'd add a quick shirt I did for work using Designer. I love the variable width tool for strokes. Is there a trick to matching up the two ends instead of eyeballing on the iPad?

Rob Necronomicon got a reaction from JLAustin in How to create this icon style?
Sorry, I don't have time to make a tutorial. But it's really quite easy...
The colours that wrap around the edges of the cube shape are just simple gradients (straight not rounded). You can set that exact colour and configuration with the gradient tool.
You just create one of the rounded slabs duplicate it twice, place it above and re-colour each as needed.
The arrows are made with strokes (or lines) making sure the edges of the strokes are rounded. The hexagonal shape is made up of lines (or strokes as well as the arrows.
The first rounded slab will have been made in the regular affinity view along with the arrows and hex lines. Then they will have been transferred to an isometric view (or plane) using Affinity's nifty fit to isometric view feature. There are a few other approaches you could take. Like making the slab in the iso view and just making the corners rounded.
However, I can appreciate that you're a noob so some of the concepts I'm talking about might seem confusing, but honestly they are pretty easy, (when you know how).
Youtube will provide you with everything you need here. I just did a quick search, there might be better ones tbh. But have a look at these:
