I just figured out how to cutout a more complex object with multiple curves. using the boolean Subtract function. It's so simple I am happy to have learned this.

I figured it out. Used the pen tool to make an outline shape then placed the image in the right hand of the pen tool shape on the layers panel. If I would have only known this earlier. I think I'm showing my lack of time using the software. I've been frustrated by the AI selection tool, since most all of the images I work with aren't shot in a studio and have perfect backgrounds and lighting.

I was looking all over for the ad on FB then when I went back to my feed there it was. : https://fb.watch/nn4_R2OfEa/ The tool in question is immediately after the pink rose where the Spline/Vector select the woman. I have been waiting for this since the DrawPlus days. I think it has been a mistake for Serif to have left that tool out. Unless of course A has the patent on the process some how.

In the latest FaceBook ad for Affinity, a spline selection tool is used to select a picture of a woman being place on the image being created. I'v been looking for this in my new updated Version 2.2 and have had no success finding it. Has anyone found it yet or am I still holding my breath that Serif will put a spline selection tool in Affinity? Mike
