When I need to select an image to another image :-Select - Load selection from file the window which opens is greyed out so if I click on an image to open it won’t However I’m still able to drag it in. I don’t know if it’s something that I have done unknowingly.
Incidentally If there was a sub folder there that could be opened but the photos not 

Computer is  Mac & I’ve only encountered this when using Affinity 1&2
