Thank you all - much appreciated. I can't see how to reply to one specific answer. Some of that is way beyond me, but I will certainly spend time on those links and try to learn!! Not sure if it must be another topic, but my other concern with my many images, is how to alter the specific space between photos, and keep consistent. Is it to do with somehow stopping it from snapping to gridlines? But I'd like to be able to select 3.5 gap, for example.

Many thanks - the video was really useful to select all stroked objects - looks great in the Affinity document, but when exported to pdf, it is a muhc heavier line! Why would that be? (pdf on left of 'rock' screenshot)

Not useful - I can do the border and adjust weight, but want to know why there's so much variation within 0.1pt, and how to make consistent across the book - retrospectively

Hope you can help. I have documents with many photos that I've inserted into picture frames. I've made the stroke 0.1pt BUT there seems to be quite a variety in stroke size within that! Is there any way I can select all my photos and make the stroke exactly the same on all (having done them each individually twice, one to change from 0.2pt and again to try and make the 0.1pt the same throughout) Can you set specific width of the stroke? In the screenshots, the photos all have 0.1pt border, but it's hard to see the difference in aff.pun - it shows up in the pdf and printing though. I'll add another couple of images to show the difference between the aff.pub appearance and the pdf appearance

Hello again fantastic helpers I'm doing a book with lots of images. I've placed them in the pages, mostly about the sizes that I want, but now I'd like to ensure that all the images that should be the same size actually are. Can I click on an image in a frame and change it to one of several preset sizes?? The dimensions I'm looking for, for the most-used images, is 75mm x 50mm, but some are 74.8 x 75.1, for example. and it's tricky to use the corner arrow to make it exact. Hope that makes sense! Just haven't had any luck being able to open those locked items any other way than edit detached... The layers panel just hasn't let me in. Sometimes the objects aren't pinned, sometimes they're even the text frame of the Master.... But I think I've probably tried so many things, it's just too corrupted. A lesson to not even go near publisher till the document is ready to go - editing in Affinity Publisher is just too fraught with difficulty. None of the tutorials I've looked at have been about books with mostly text and some images throughout. will try again with expanding master.... but don't know what that means at this point!! Thank you so much for your help. I will get back when I've tried some of your suggestions

thank you for picking up this issue - I'm just really over Affinity at the moment - SO many issues. And yes, probably my fault for trying to fix things the wrong way. I haven't had problems with text frame linking when I've done it in the original master pages - until I started trying to fix issues with TOC and Index, or shift text around (which sometimes results in extra pages magically appearing and then not deletable), etc. The index has been doing crazy things - and that may be because I've linked them... will check that out. Had to delete and start again. Editing detached: I've used it quite a lot to try and unlock picture frames or text boxes that have become completely inaccessible and un-editable for some weird reason. Sometimes it's around me trying to pin them in place with a text-box caption - especially unsuccessfully if at the top of a page, or on its own page. I really really need a good tutorial on the whole 'layers' thing. Even when a picture is pinned, it still jumps several pages if I have to edit something earlier on in the document. (I've just lost a couple of captions completely - don't know where they've disappeared to). Wish I could 'group' picture & caption together as in Word. Hope you can help - thanks again

Many thanks for the help to 'break' the text flow and re-do. That worked, mostly, but every time I inserted a page break, it disrupted everything again. I seem to have fixed it, but don't know how! And then there are more downstream issues. is there a tutorial about how to get my head around 'layers'? Even the master LH header jumps across to the RH page. Is it 'edit detached' that's creating issues?

I have multiple issues suddenly popped up. I shifted some text from one part of the document to another and now the page numbers have been corrupted - I can't update the Table of contents - all the page numbers are wrong, started from what should be page one. Maybe I'll do a different topic for that. Trying to fix that, the text flow between pages has got all bamboozled - the flow goes ahead a couple of pages... How do I undo and re-do the text flow? You can see form the picture that somehow the Master text box seems to have shifted as well.

Can't upload - it's not my book and it's 64MB. Going great most of the time (my 2nd book) but I seem to have corrupted quite a few bits by accident 🥲 Will check out the empty objects thought and I'll try and figure out the Master page thing.... can't find anywhere that helps me understand all those things in the layers menu,,, any links to tutorials around layers would be good probably - I find it all totally confusing.

I'm having issues with being locked out, unable to edit random images or text boxes (when others are fine). Now I'm locked out of a Master header box as well, and the header that should be on the LHS is now on the RHS but I can't get in to change that. I can't select to edit. In the layers panel, I've checked lock/unlock. I tried edit detached - no luck. Sometimes I've been able to unpin and then edit. Not always. I've tried closing and walking away for awhile. It's happening more frequently.
