I couldn't save it so I pasted the text into a new document and readded the pictures. Seems OK now

If so you're two releases downlevel, as 1.10.6 is current for Publisher V1 on Windows. Updating probably won't help recover your file, but there bug fixes in 1.10.5 and 1.10.6 that you're missing.
