  1. Oh, it did take off in a big way, all right. It's just that you are too blind to see it.
  2. Could this be related to fonts you are using? I am on MacOSX Ventura and I don't have that problem. If you can attach a file you are struggling with I can have a look at my end.
  3. I hope you have read the response of Ash from Serif who said: However, taking on board some of the feedback there is something extra we can do – we will offer a new free bundle of content exclusively for V1 customers upgrading to V2 as an extra thank you for your support. I’ve seen this suggested by a number of customers and it’s a great idea as it does remove the App Store conflict entirely. We’ll need a little time to put something together, but all customers who previously registered or purchased V1 and have since upgraded to V2 will receive a voucher code for this via email as soon as we can.
  4. I don't really understand what you are on about. Serif has not pressurised us in any way to do anything. If you are happy with v1 stay there. If you are happy with the new features released in v2 they have offered us an extremely generous upgrade path to v2. Are you upset that new customers get the same discount as you? Why? If Serif are so generous to do that what's that to you?
  5. I'm surprised to hear that. To me the Footnote/Endnote/Sidenotes implementation in Affinity Publishers is one of the best in the industry. The fact that we have Sidenotes not available in inDesign is already one up on inDesign. I usually import text from Word to either inDesign or Affinity Publisher for further processing. I don't leave that text as is. So, in the case of Publisher, if I have defined a Style for Footnotes Text and Footnote References, then to apply those style to the whole text is only a matter of 2 clicks and I'm done. Obviously, you may have encountered a bug or something, but in general this process should be very smooth and quick.
  6. While we can resize the Section Manager on the Mac, I wish we could resize the left and right side of the panel independently. As it is the right hand side is not resizeable at all and we can only see a fraction of the section name we type in the Section name text field. I think this really needs to be improved.
  7. This is nothing to do with Apple or apple experts, I'm afraid. You need to ask for a refund from your Microsoft Store and then buy the license directly from Affinity.
  8. So, you bought the Universal License from Apple Store, then, I'm afraid, you can't do much about it. What you can do though is to ask Apple Store for a refund (within 2 weeks of purchase, I believe) and then buy the Universal License from Serif store.
  9. It looks that you have selected a dark theme. Try to change it to Light by going to Preferences ->User Interface ->UI Style Light.
  10. You can assign a shortcut to Document -> Go to Page… or type your page number where you see 1 of 1 in the screenshot below. Is this what you are asking for?
  11. Please open Help -> Affinity Publisher 2 Help and find help on Footnotes. This will teach you all you need to know about the Footnotes, Endnotes and Sidenotes.
  12. That's interesting. I don't see that problem when I create footnotes and endnotes in the same document. I hope you don't mind me asking you to describe what you do to create endnotes after you've created footnotes? Do yo mind attaching your document here so I can have a look.
  13. Thank @TonyB for that information. One thing that I'd love to know, if possible, is how you are going to deal with automation which remains platform specific. Apple during the last Year WWDC announced that the future of automation on MacOSX is Shortcuts (replacing AppleScript). I have no doubts that on this year's WWDC, just next month, we will see a bigger push towards that. Windows, no doubt, have their own technology. Are there any plans to take advantage or each platform unique automation technologies?
  14. It may have something to do with the font you choose. I tried that with the lowest common denominator font – Arial – and the thin underline in LibreOffice became a thick underline in Publisher. I then tried Adobe Caslon Pro and the thickness of the underline hasn't changed in Publisher. So my suggest is try various fonts and see what you get.
  15. Hi @R C-R, You are absolutely right. I should have mentioned that in my post.
  16. Hi @MEB, I'm on MacOSX Monterey (Version 12 Beta (21A5506j). iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) Processor 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 Memory 64 GB 2400 MHz DDR4 Attached screen recording and crash report. Affinity Photo-2021-09-13-154604.ips mockup.mov
  17. Hello @MEB. Just tested the file you've attached above. Photo crashes as soon as you double-click the first (blue) icon in the Embedded document layer. It crashes all the time. Sometimes in crashes on the first double-click other times on subsequent double-clicks.
  18. This topic has been explored ad nauseam here. Please check the forum for the pros and cons (mostly cons) of sharing IDML files between inDesign and Affinity Publisher.
  19. I would suggest to report problems on the latest betas. That beta has been superseded by 1.10.0.1115 (RC) on 21 July.
  20. I'm sure these are just simple typos. Dots should be replaced with commas in max functions.
  21. Hi @Pauls, I checked the latest beta and I am unable to reproduce the crash I saw in my initial post. It seems that the problem has gone away. If I come across this crash again I will attach the offending file here.
  22. Unable to reproduce it all the time but when searching for soft returns and then double-clicking one of them in the found list crashes latest Publisher beta. I can only attach crash reports here. Affinity Publisher Beta_2021-07-20-200854_Middledot-iMac-3.crashAffinity Publisher Beta_2021-07-20-201217_Middledot-iMac-3.crash
