Thanks for any answer, and happy new year!

    Hello @Saro,

I will only share my view on the last 2 points – DPI and Colour Profile.

    DPI

1200dpi produces best results.  But the higher the dpi the more disk space you need and for comic books 600dpi is more than enough in my opinion. But as always consult your printer first.

    Colour Profile

The best way is alway to consult your printer. They will be able to advise on that. And that's why there is really no right or wrong answer regarding Option 1, 2 or 3.

  2. I'm also running all the 3 Affinity apps on MacOSX but I don't have that problem except that reading your screenshot it clearly says there that the item you are opening is on the Disk Image. You need to drag the application from the installer to your Applications folder and then you need to launch it from there and not from the installer again.

Can you show a screenshot or tell the basic properties you used?

    Hi @thomaso,

A lot of new Publisher users have problems understanding the difference between scaling a text box and enlarging it.

I mentioned not to use the scaling handle for that reason here. One would use scaling handle to either resize or reduce the text in the text box. We don't want to do that here.

My solution is to use Decorations option in the Paragraph style.

I used 2 decorations one for the black line and another one for the while think line below the text and above the line.

Once this is done there is no need to worry about the line and the text as separate items and just either reduce or enlarge the text frame size to suit one's needs.

I've included 2 screenshots that show what I've done.

I would have sent you a v1 version but I've deleted Publisher v1 from my system.

Just create a text box with some text and apply the styles above and it should work.

Please let me know if it's not clear.

My hope is to get this down to just steps #1 & 2.

    Hello @flyleaf,

Please see my attachment. You don't need to do anything except resize the size of the caption according to your needs.

When resizing the caption please use the text handles and not the size handle (the sticking out handle at the bottom right of the text box)

    IDML formats would work.

    Hello @fjunk,

That's correct. If you happen to come across an inDesign Broadsheet Newspaper Template you could save it in IDML format and open it in Publisher.

Adobe Stock offers a variety of Broadsheet templates but they are not free.

However, found a Youtube tutorial on how to setup a broadsheet template in inDesign.

I think it is quite straightforward to translate instructions given there into Publisher.

    Good luck. 🙂

But when I frame the selection in Affinity, while I get the same sort of rectangle with nodes, I can't seem to grab the nodes to move individually.

    Hello @AndyV,

Did you manage to solve your problem?

When I select something in Affinity Photo and want to transform it I need to select the Move Tool in order to achieve that.

Selecting the Move Tool will give you the corner nodes you need to perform the transformation.

Can someone please help? For some reason it just starts typing dead center instead of the top. I feel like it's probably something obvious i'm missing, but not sure what.

This tells me that you must have switched vertical text alignment to middle earlier in your work.

Select the text box with the move tool. Go to Text-> Vertical Alignment -> Top.

    That should fix it.

So making a protection exclusion of the folder "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" is a successful workaround for the moment.

I'm sure you have checked all options but just in case the link below might be useful.

    https://kb.acronis.com/content/36429

    in particular the paragraph below:

After adding Acronis software components/folders to security program exclusions list, is vital to restart all Acronis services to sync up the changes. If services are not restarted, then security program may continue blocking Acronis components.

why is it that you allow serious customers to be met by a handful of completely random people who obviously make it their hobby to answer every post in here, with no particular skills or customer focus, but instead answer in the worst and most childish fanboy style. It's bad for business. And deeply unprofessional.

I thought that this forums was open to everyone, even to an unskilled person like me.

But it seems that my post has offended you deeply so I offer you my sincere apology.
