  1. Can you explain a bit more how you see it done in Publisher. Each publishing house will have their own house-style to follow so to enforce one style to rule them all may not work. But I see value in some sort of House Style rules attached to a project, a bit like a Ticket options in QuarkXpress. If one could create House Styles for various companies and attach that to individual projects that might be a very good idea. This could also be linked to the Preflight options in Publisher.
  2. Your only option, I think, is to force quit the application and hope that it has saved your work and just stuck on something else. Is your Time Machine working? You should be able to recover your file or at least most of what you've done from there.
  3. You may be doing it wrong because I have just tried it on the latest Publisher beta and it works OK. Just specify the number of pages to be imported and the page you want these new pages to be placed after.
  4. You can merge Publisher documents into one file in 1.8 beta. But because Publisher 1.8 is still in beta in may show rough edges here and there.
  5. Prova per piacere l'ultima versione di Publisher, sarebbe, 1.8.556, Γ¨ ancora in beta perΓ².
  6. It makes sense. Recent files are more appropriate in the Open Dialog?
  7. Sorry, but why is this not a workable solution. It used to be a workable solution before we had that facility in inDesign.
  8. I don't speak for Serif but it's unlikely that they will provide this service any time soon. If your documents created in Microsoft Publisher are composed mainly of text: books and articles, then you can export the text you have in Microsoft Publisher to Word or RTF format and import it to Affinity Publisher. If on the other hand your documents consist mainly of text boxes and pictures then you might want to try to save it as PDF and open it in Publisher. The result is really very acceptable.
  9. If one has 100 dartboards one should also utilise Navigation Viewpoints, name them appropriately and zoom to dartboards used most often in no time.
  10. At the moment the Preflight Panel allows me to create New Presets with the same name. I think it would be better if we were asked whether the new profile should replace the old one with the same name and if not to allow me to specify a new name. Also, when I edit the profile I created earlier Publisher doesn't save it in place but creates a <Custom> profile. I would expect Publisher to simply update the profile I am editing.
  11. The shortcut for the Right indent Tab on the Mac has a wrong icon. The arrow should point to the right and not to the left. πŸ™‚
  12. Hi @Old Bruce, You need to reapply the Master Layout on these pages once again. But once you've done that any modifications to the baseline grid will work from that moment on. It worked for me anyway.
  13. Try to open it with he latest beta. I had a problem with a file that I couldn't open because of a regression but the latest beta fixed it.
  14. Done. These are just sample files that were worked on in inDesign and saved as IDML. They are not the finals that went to print. Some will have missing links, etc, but the point of all this is for Publisher to deal with all these problems gracefully.
  15. Possible, but I have this problem with all IDML files imported to Publisher. The one I uploaded earlier was just a no frills sample file.
  16. The backspace key works OK on any document created in Publisher. It's only when I import an IDML file that it stops working. πŸ™‚ Here is the IDML file and a short video demonstrating the problem I have: IDML-from-inDesign.idml idml-backspace.mov
  17. I still have some IDML files where Publisher beta crashes on import. Can upload one if required. Ideally, Publisher should gracefully give up with an explanation dialog if unable to import any of these files rather than crashing the program.
  18. I'm unable to delete an empty line on imported IDMLs using a backspace key. For example, open an IDML file, create an empty line with a return key and then try to delete it with a backspace (delete) key. This doesn't work me. Can anyone confirm this, thanks. I'm on Mac Catalina, v.10.15.3
  19. It should take you less than 30 seconds to add these sizes to "My Presets" tab yourself.
