  1. Yes it's possible and much easier in Affinity Photo. You don't need any actions to accomplish that. Try this video. There are many Frequency Separation tutorials on YouTube but here is the first I found.
  2. Hi @Dania, it looks as if you inserted a placeholder text as a field (non editable text). You need to select it all, right-mouse-click it and choose expand field. Edit: You can change this behaviour by going to Preferences->General and select Insert Filler Text as Text.
  3. Selecting and dragging a pinned object while holding down Option or Command or both keys creates a smaller version of the dragged object. Also, Command key is usually used to disable snapping while dragging, while Option key creates a copy of a dragged object. Or am I getting all confused now? file.afpub copy.mov
  4. I'm sure you are aware that Font Type 1 is going away and Adobe advises people to start switching to Open Type format. Adobe will end Font 1 support in January 2023. Please see this post to migrate your fonts to alternative formats: https://creativepro.com/how-to-convert-postscript-fonts-to-opentype-with-transtype/?utm_source=CreativePro+Network+List&utm_campaign=a59a8cb0a0-idtotw_02-25-21&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_98b7b678b4-a59a8cb0a0-262960537&mc_cid=a59a8cb0a0&mc_eid=b1c562919e
  5. I've never heard such nonsense in my entire life. This goes for your entire post.
  6. When placing a PDF to Publisher (this occurs in oder betas too) the dimension of the file is somewhat reduced to 1/4 of its original size. Switching from Interpreted to Passthrough mode enlarges the file. If the selected option is Interpreted then the file placed is in the right size but when switching to Pass Through the file switches back to smaller size. Once togged from one option to the other proper dimensions are then retained. interpret.mov
  7. If you really want that many pages in your document then you can create a new Publisher file with 7,500 pages (and more) to begin with.
  8. I'm not sure whether this is a bug. If you click on the disabled eye (0.27 of your video) the hidden text is revealed and you can double-click the bottom handle to snap to the second line.
  9. From a typographic point of view it matters a lot but I agree that not everybody would miss it.
  10. I'm not sure whether this has been reported already. Checked against the latest RC3. Text wrap works OK on objects that are not pinned but if you pin the object first and then apply text wrap to it, text wrap doesn't kick in until you move the object to refresh the screen. I have included a short video demonstrating the problem. pin.mov
  11. I am unable to joint 2 paragraphs together if the test comes from an IDML file and when the paragraphs have Left Indent as part of the style. I've attached a sample IDML file and Publisher file to experiment with. The IDML file opened in Publisher contains also text created in publisher for comparison. I have attached a short video demonstrating the problem. Can someone check whether this is only on my computer? I checked both the Mac and Windows versions and the result is the same. There are a number of workarounds like deleting the paragraph mark at the end of the previous paragraph or removing the left indent to join the paragraphs together but these are just workarounds. Also, I suspect that the Text Engine is undergoing a major overhaul so the fix may come as a result of that. trial.idml trial.afpub indent.mov
  12. Or maybe you need to grow up. What about people who own only one program and would want to take advantage of this and buy the other two. Or people who bought programs for Mac and would also want to buy now for Windows, or the other way around.
  13. Just played a bit with the CR1 build and the program crashes as soon as I release the mouse over the Elipse entry in the Links panel. Screencast attached. links.mov
  14. I hope that the team is working on a trio relationship: footnotes, endnotes, sidetones, rather than just the usual duo: footnotes & endnotes. I'd love to see a discussion here on what we'd like to have regarding the footnotes, sidenotes and endnotes. I hope it's going to be more flexible than the competing offerings. Being able to format them in columns independent of the main text would be great – just an example.
  15. IDML is not proprietary as it is published by Adobe as you well know. 🙂 I would love to see a day when major page-making software houses (no need to specify them here) collaborate on a standard (XML/IDML/WhateverML) that would specify a way to display it consistently on each software. Something similar to what has been achieved in the HTML world (Opera, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc).
  16. Hi @KennyCampbell, I don't understand what you mean by column splitting. Do you mean dividing, say, a 3 column text box into 3 independent text boxes? If so then inDesign cannot do it unless you use a script that does it for you.
  17. Dragging a layer unto a History layer icon deletes that layer. I think this is an unintended behaviour. I checked 1.8.6 and this bug/unintended behaviour is also there.
  18. Thanks for the next beta. I would suggest to add the Duplicate Link command to the contextual Layer menu as well.
  19. Maybe you should advise the devs how to compile their code correctly.
  20. You can work with any tools designer offers. If you create a star it will create a new layer but you can then merge it down to the pattern layer to become the pattern. Unfortunately, when you work on a different layer any layer above the pattern layer you have no idea of the pattern dimensions. The only way to remedy this is to create guides to indicate the patter working area. I hope that this can be improved so that the pattern dimensions can be seen even working on other layers.
