I have Macbook Pro M1 so I guess its Apple Silicon. I am trying to do some in-painting and I get the spinning beachball all the time.

Oh dear - so I wonder if i'll ever be able to use Affinity Photo again!!

How do I log into the beta version if I don't have a licence key. I purchased Affinity Photo from the Mac Appstore and I don't have a licence number.

There should be a button on the top of Affinity Photo that allows me to select Current Layer and below but this is missing. Can anyone tell me how to get it back please.

I have been using paintbrush but all of a sudden it has disappeared. When I say 'disappeared' I mean that as soon as I click on the photo it's as if the brush has gone underneath it. Please help - I have been trying to sort this out for a day and a half now. Thanks.

OK - thanks for that. I am selecting the piece I want to remove and using in-painting brush to remove it but it keeps painting it lighter and lighter and when I think I'm nearly there it just mirrors an image below it. It can't be right that I have spent 2 hours trying to remove a curtain!! I consider myself to be a fairly bright person but I am losing the will to live right now!! Its not my photo - I am trying to do something for a friend - so I don't feel I can share it with Dropbox. Incidentally I took the photo with an Apple iPhone 6S. Is this the problem?

Would you believe I can't post the image because it comes up huge. Im not having a very good day it would seem. I'll try and persevere with the in-painting tool.

I am following your instructions but if I use the in-painting tool I seem to have to paint over it loads of times to get rid of the curtains and when I tried selecting and then pressing delete it just left dots where the curtains were. I really am so new to this - its taking me ages! Also, if I brighten the picture or darken it, then the in-painting tool doesn't seem to work anymore. So sorry to be such a pain.

I want to erase some curtains from a photo - can anyone tell me an easy way of doing this. Thanks.

Callum Thanks. My problem is I can select the object with the painting tool but when I click it does not remove it - it merely paints where I have clicked. Sorry but Im completely new to this so need an idiots guide I guess.

How do I remove an object from a picture? I have selected it with the paintbrush tool but there is nowhere that tells me what to do next. Please help. Thanks.
