Are there any updates about this?
We need higher-quality options in Affinity. Resampling everything on the canvas with Bilinear is terrible.
I would like to see both Bicubic and Lanczos as scaling options under Performance > View Quality.
I'm a little dissapointed V2 didn't get improvements in this area.

Not at the moment, sorry. I will add your feedback for this particular feature request to our devs.

    Hallo Serif Service Team,

  3. I'm locking this thread as most users who have experienced issues regarding payment have made other threads asking for help. Our Customer Service team are working through all forum replies, emails and social contacts as fast as they can and will reply to your thread as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please read the below FAQ which explains the issues you're encountering and why. Please try to avoid creating multiple posts/threads/emails about the same issue - it won't make the Customer Service team work any quicker than they already are. As it mentions in the banner above, thank you for your continued patience.

In the start up screen I see something like 'checking the Microsoft store registration' flash by. So apart from being registered at Serif (which makes sense), users are now registered at Microsoft as well? Which makes less sense. What does that mean for the independence of Serif and its users?

I've been unable to see this message on the start up screen but I'm guessing it's just a check to see if there's MS Store licence on the machine. We won't be sharing any data with the MS Store if you've downloaded and installed the MSIX version from our website.

  5. In order to enable Hardware Acceleration in Affinity V2 apps, your graphics card will need to have Direct3D 12 Feature Level 12.0. To find out if your graphics card(s) has Direct3D 12 Feature Level 12.0 please follow the below steps:

    • Press the Windows Key + R
    • Type dxdiag into the Run dialog and press OK

This will bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Click the Display tab and look at the Feature Levels under the Drivers section - this will show you the feature levels your graphics card supports:

Please Note: If you have multiple displays connected to your machine you will have multiple Display tabs listed. You need to make sure that you have the correct Display tab selected to show the correct details for any dedicated graphics card you have installed or connected.

  6. Affinity V2 apps require a DirectX 10 compatible graphics cards and above to run. To find out which version of DirectX your graphics card(s) supports please follow the below steps:

    • Type dxdiag into the Run dialog and press OK

This will bring up the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Click the Display tab and look at the Feature Levels under the Drivers section - this will show you the feature levels your graphics card supports:

  7. This can happen if the AppX Deployment Service (AppXSVC) is disabled for some reason. It can be enabled by following the below steps:

    • Press the Windows Key + R
    • Type Regedit into the Run dialog and press OK
    • Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AppXSvc
    • In the right pane double click on Start
    • Change Value data to 2 and press OK

Now restart your computer and try installing your Affinity V2 app again.

  8. I was the one who hidden your original post. Users shouldn't have to reinstall Windows to get our apps working correctly and we would prefer that issues with our apps, particular performance related issues are logged with us to investigate. Reinstalling Windows may have resolved the issue for now but what's to say that the issue doesn't reoccur and needs further investigation later.

I will leave this post up but it's not something we (Serif) would recommend users do if they run into issues with our apps. Please log any issues you may find in the Bugs section here - We're extremely busy at the moment after the V2 launch but we will respond to all forum threads, email tickets and social contacts as fast as we can :)

So I take it I'm on my own now, out $99?

I've not forgotten about you but we're extremely busy at the moment, as you can imagine.

If the app is working on a new user account but not on your existing account then it must be a permissions related issue. The following article gives 6 potential fixes to your error: 0x80073D02 - I think you may have tried a few of them but perhaps the others will resolve the issue within your normal user account.

Yes.  After many installs through the download from affinity or the MS Store I would not be able to run. I get that same dialog box pop up.

Ive installed designer and phot via the un supported unzip method.

When the new installer arrives I will re-install it the correct way.

If you're getting the same error on the MS Store version too then i'm not. Can you try creating a test user account on the machine to see if the same happens?
