  1. I just wanted to let everyone know that we have released the new update, 1.8.2, that fixes the issue users were having where the app wouldn't get past the loading screen because of fonts. If you purchased the app from the Affinity Store you can download the update from: https://store.serif.com/update/windows/photo/1/ https://store.serif.com/update/windows/designer/1/ https://store.serif.com/update/windows/publisher/1/ If you purchased the app from the Microsoft Store the update will be available to download from the updates section.

  4. Sorry for the delay in replying. I just wanted to let you know that we've released an update to our apps, 1.8.2. If you purchased the app from the Affinity Store you can download them from here: Affinity Store Publisher Windows (requiring Product Key) Affinity Store Designer Windows (requiring Product Key) Affinity Store Photo on Windows (requiring Product Key) If your document was corrupted, it wouldn't open at all, which is positive. Perhaps try the update and if that doesn't work I may need to see your document.
  5. The Affinity Store retail update should be available very soon
  6. The latest beta build for Affinity Publisher has this fix too and can be found below. I would use 1.7.3 if that works better for you and then update to the latest 1.8 update when made publicly available.
  7. @Amy7 Did you manage to follow advice given by Walt.farrell & Gitta?
  8. Hi @Wlwlad I just wanted to let you know that we have released a new beta build for both Affinity Photo and Designer on Windows that will hopefully improve/fix our apps from crashing on startup when loading fonts. Can you download and install to see if the app(s) starts without any issues?

  17. It appears that InDesign uses Bicubic by default and we're using Bilinear. In 1.8 we've also changed the JPEG compression for HQ presets to use 98% compression instead of 85%. Do you know what compression you're using in Indesign for images when exporting to PDF?
  18. Thank you again @grunnvms Do you use a font manager at all?
  19. Me again @Ddraiggoch @trevordl @grunnvms @Venice27 @AnthonyN I may have already asked this question already but are any of you using a Font Manager? if so, which one? If you don't mind, could you also run Powershell or Command Prompt as an Admin and then run this command: reg export “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts” C:\userFontLoc.txt This will create a text file in the root of C:\ called userFontLoc.txt that will tell us which other locations you have fonts installed too. It's more than likely it will list fonts in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts\ but if you could check to see which location(s) are listed and then zip up a copy of these font folders along with the userFontLoc.txt and upload here, that would be very much appreciated. Again, we're sorry that you're experiencing this issue but our developers are on the case 🚓
