    I wanted to give you an update on this. i've been trying to replicate this scenario on my iMac but couldn't. Will try again on a Windows machine when I get chance. Thanks again for sharing your experience and if I manage to replicate the issue, I will let you know 👍

  3. This thread has been flagged numerous times over the years but more so over the past month. I don't want to give out warnings or lock this thread but I wanted to clarify Affinity’s position regarding some of the topics that are the cause of heated exchanges which get subsequently reported to moderators.

    Affinity do not have an issue with users trying to get our apps working on Linux, as long as users are aware that Affinity won’t be offering any support or advice on how to get our apps working or how to improve performance via WINE etc.

    Feel free to use this thread as a way of sharing information that may be useful to other Affinity users trying to get the apps running on Linux but as we’ve stated numerous times, we have no plans to bring our apps to Linux, so it’s pointless arguing and getting frustrated with each other.

    I would also like to state that if you’re not a fan of Linux or have no intention/interest in wanting/trying to get our apps working on Linux, perhaps you should avoid this thread completely.

    It seems if I keep APub with one or two most used .afpubs opened over days or weeks (both files grow over time, one contains tests related to the forum) then the chance for this error gets increased after some days. Then it most often happens that "appears corrupted" or "must close" needs one or more trails to reopen these .afpubs, means a first trail can cause the error again while a second or third one does work fine. Actually, in the recent ~2 years with about ~50 of this error messages I got only 1 or 2 document states which I really could not open / really seem to be corrupted in the eyes of APub, while all others did open after several trials.

    Also interesting that this message initially more often affects both open files rather than only one – and mainly (not only) if I come back to APub after a break with the mac 'sleeping'. This makes me assume it is a communication issue of APub itself with its own data (not my documents in particular), as if APub wasn't able to access or read its various temp files if the computer has slept for a while.

    Thanks for the update and information - very useful. Will try and replicate, making sure to pass any findings to our developers.

    Thanks for trying. Would it be possible to try changing the display profile back to the default macOS display profile in System Preferences > Display to see if that improves things?

  6. I've spoken with our QA team and they're not sure would could be causing the issue. However, I can see you're using a M1 Macbook and we've had a few issues related to EDR.     Also, do you know if you're using a custom display profile?

  7. Sorry for the delay in replying. I've had a look at your .dmp file but it didn't shed any light on the issue, sorry. The only other option I can offer is to use Task Manager to create a dmp file - this will hopefully catch the issue when the app crashes/hangs. 

    When the app hangs, open Task Manager and right-click on the process and select "Create dump" to write a full dump of this process.  The dump file should be found in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\ but Task Manager will usually show the dump file name and location once the dump has been written.

    Thanks for the information. Is it possible to temporarily disable the automatic sync when creating/saving or working on an Affinity document to see if the corrupting issues stops?

  10. No worries and thanks for replying. So is the folder where you're saving documents to also the folder that's being backed up to the cloud? Does it constantly backup or does it backup at certain intervals? Are you able to tell me which backup/sync cloud service you're using?

    Thanks for trying. You state that this happens with the Liquify filter, does the same happen if you use the Liquify Persona? You say it happens with all images but are you making any changes to the image or are you just opening the image and going straight to the Liquify Filter? What happens if you start a new document, add a rectangle, rasterise said rectangle and then try the Liquify Filter. Does the app crash?

    Morning Claes,

    Dan is away this week. I've been able ro recover your file - we normally try and open these documents in Affinity Publisher by adding it as a Page. It's attached.

    You mentioned above that you're saving locally but is the location you're saving to backed up or synced to a cloud service?
