  1. Hi James! It's not possible to add XMP data at the moment. Is it possible to attach your project to your post? We can then investigate why you're having export issues.
  2. Hi Marco, welcome to the forums :) You can strip colour profiles from images when using the Export Persona. They both show available colour profiles on your machine. Convert ICC profile will convert the image's current working colour space to the one selected from the list. Assign ICC profile allows you to assign a profile to an untagged image.
  3. At the moment it's not possible to save Adjustment Layers as a new style. Styles can only be made up of effects, stroke properties, or text attributes and combinations of these.
  4. Hi xdisplay, welcome to the forums! I'm sure you'll get the hang of Affinity Photo in no time :) We have many video tutorials available explaining what's available within app. We also have a keyboard shortcut cheat sheet available to help users get up to speed. The app supports both color management and quality image manipulation, we also have many more features to come in the future ( check out our roadmap here). I can only suggest that you use the app to do real work and see if it works for you - if you feel that something is missing or needs improving, let us know. I'm sure other users will share their experiences with the app.
  5. Welcome to the forums Tehillim! Another user did create a Video Tutorial but it's no longer available. To install the Nik Plug-ins without PS installed, you will need to run the Nik Collection Installer and when promoted with the below screen, click the + button to add your own custom location. This is where the plug-ins will be installed to. When the Nik Collection installation completes, follow the instructions provided in Affinity Photo's built-in help. If you search for "Using Plug-ins", you'll find them. Hope this helps!
  6. Welcome to the forums mattbwm :) Any of the those file types should be fine but please be aware that some objects within your document could be rasterised on export. MEB explains this in more detail here.
  7. Welcome to the forums 5akphoto! By default, Affinity Photo's Develop Assistant will adjust the tone and exposure of the image on opening. The Develop Assistant can also be turned off for more control :) The Develop Persona gives you many non-destructive adjustments and tools that can be used to process your image. Our Developing Images video tutorial will explain in more detail what's possible!
  8. If you have the SWOP Newsprint color profile installed on your system, you will be able to select it when Creating a New Project. You can also change the profile of the current document by going to Document > Convert ICC Profile. it also possible to select the ICC Profile when using a Soft Proof adjustment layer too. It's not possible to set Total Ink Limits, but our devs are planning to add many Pro Printing features in the future. More info can be found here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/10075-affinity-photo-feature-roadmap/
  9. Only the Width, Opacity, Flow and Hardness settings from the brush's context toolbar will work when painting/erasing on a mask.
  10. I'm not seeing this issue on my home machine. When I save the changes in AFP the image preview in Finder is updated and so is the image in LR.
  11. As long as you're not using a huge image, you should be fine. Check out some of these user tutorials for more information: Learn how to make your own smoke brush. Create a Rain brush. Create your own brush - grass Hope this helps!
  12. Another user added this to the Feature Request section here. If you have Affinity Designer, you could open your document in ADF and follow Paul's steps. You can then reopen in Affinity Photo to continue editing.
  13. Are you able to replicate the issue again? If so, please let us know the steps taken to get this issue. We can then investigate further :)
  14. Do you have the latest MAS versions installed? If so, are you getting the same issue? Are you able to save to the *Pictures* folder within Finder?
  15. Is it possible to attach a sample image to this thread for me to try?
  16. Great! Can't wait to see it :)
  17. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner MikeFromMessa! You most probably already know this but Topaz & Google's Nik Collection are the two plugins that we know work with AFP. Now that we've launched the app, we can begin to talk to plugin developers to see what is needed for Affinity Photo to work with their plugins. When we have more information, I'm sure Andy will make a post about it.
  18. You can use Calibre to create a PDF version of the help, but it will require you to experiment with the settings to get the best results. I've had good results converting the help to an EPUB file and using iBooks to read it. Try this: Go to Applications Right click Affinity Photo and click Show Package Contents Go to Contents > Resources and right click AffinityPhoto.help and click Show Package Contents Go to Contents > Resources and copy de.lproj & shared to your desktop Open Calibre and drag index.html from the de.lproj folder into Calibre - this will add Affinity Photo Help: Get Started to the list of books Right click Affinity Photo Help: Get Started and select Convert Books > Convert Individually Make sure PDF is selected from the Output format drop down Make any changes needs in the other sections and click OK
  19. You can retain Exif Data if you use File > Export instead of using the Export Persona.
  20. Welcome to the forums draweric! Love 'em! Thanks for sharing :)
  21. Welcome to the forums chetko! We should have a trial version available in about 4 weeks for you to try. When we have more information, we'll let everyone know. Hope this helps! :)
  22. No worries! I think our devs are looking to add an option in the Export Persona to retain exif data if needed.
