Thanks for the tutorial Leigh. I still find my noise layer "thick" with noise... about 3 times as dense as yours. Could it be because I'm on a 5K iMac screen? I can't seem to thin out the "specks" of noise

Thanks Leigh, I don't see any step by step instructions there... well OK, a few steps. I can get the layer with noise added (then add some motion blur) but I can't find out how to thin the noise down, so that it doesn't resemble a mist or fog
