Hi VIPStephan, Thanks for posting on the forums! :) I would suggest resetting the App, this can be done by holding down the CTRL key when launching. Just click Select All and Clear. If this does not help and you are still getting the crash, please provide the crash report so we can look into this further. Jack

Hi Ronnyb I am not able to replicate this on my end, I have tried changing my default to US English and it does stay that way. Would it be possible too send a screenshot of your Language and Region settings so I can take a look? Jack

Hi lilloph3! Thanks for posting on the forums! We've not experienced any problems here, do you find that it crashes at a specific point or is this quite random? Would it be possible to send a copy of the .afphoto file you are working on so I can test this? Also, it may be worth resetting the App. You can do this by holding down the CTRL key when launching the App and then clicking 'Select All' and 'Clear' Jack

Colour matching
JFisher replied to Mvdarbs's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Mvdarbs, Thanks for posting on the forums :) Both Affinity Designer and Photo have a colour picker tool, this can be found in the Colour Tab in the top right hand corner. Click and drag the colour picker tool onto the colour you wish to sample, this will then be held for you in the colour tab to use when you like :) - You can also use this with the paintbrush tool selected, hold down ALT and drag, this will match the colour in the same way. Hi onamac! Thanks for posting on the forums! The selection tool usually misses out parts of the selection if it is noticeably different to the rest of the selection, which may explain why the flood select tool isn't actually selecting every different variation of blue in the image you are working with. I would suggest using the selection brush, so you can manually select the parts you want and then refine this afterwards should you need to. Another option is to use Quick Masks to make a selection. With regards to the mesh overlay, this is part of the Liquify Persona. Once you enter the Liquify Persona this will be added automatically. Jack

Hi Simon Welcome to the forums! :) I am using Colour Efex Pro 4 of the Nik plugins and I am also having the same problem. The only way I am able to have both recipes that I have created showing in both Affinity and Photoshop is to export the recipe from the NIK plugin in Photoshop and then import it into the NIK plugin in Affinity Photo. I will log this with our developers to see if there is anything we can do to improve this, but for now that seems like the only way of getting the recipes on both platforms. Jack

Hi will1960 Thanks for posting on the forums :) I would suggest using the Affinity Photo for all effects like this, you can open the image you are working on in Photo, apply the effects and save it, then reopen in Designer and continue where you left off in Photo. If you want to do this in Designer it is a bit more tricky. But if you follow the guide below you may be able to achieve this. Duplicate the background layer Apply Gaussian Blur effect Use the selection brush to define area that you do not wish to be affected by the blur Hit delete I hope this helps. Jack

Hi Nivrams, Welcome to the forums! Currently Apple Photo's extension is only available if you install Affinity Photo Customer Beta. You will need the Mac App Store version installed to be able to run it. This should be available in the next update of the Mac App Store version. With regards to plugins, the NIK collection and Topaz are compatible with Affinity Photo and we will be looking to add to this list in the future! Jack

Hi Andreas Welcome to the forums! :) I can see that you have already had a response to this issue here Hopefully another user can shed some light on this for you. In the mean time, you could try downloading the trial version of their X7 and see if this works any better for you? This ultimately seems like a Corel issue however. Jack

Bitmap fills
JFisher replied to jackamus's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Jackamus There are no preset styles for wooden textures etc, but it is possible for you to create your own. Please follow the steps below. Insert a quick shape Click the Gradient tool Select 'Type' at the top and then select 'Bitmap' This will open finder, select an image of the texture you wish to use, for example an image of gravel, and click Open This will insert the image inside the quickshape, use the node tools within the shape to alter the positioning of the image. (you can also use the 'Extend' tab across the top) Once your happy with shape, right click it and click 'Create Style' if you want to use the same bitmap for future projects :) I hope this helps. Hi MikeT The extension does have limited functionality at this stage but it will be improved over time :) As you have mentioned, we would suggest using the App should you need access to all features. Jack -

plugin woes (redux)
JFisher replied to MikeFromMesa's topic in [ARCHIVE] Photo beta on macOS threads
Hi MikeFromMesa! I have Topaz Adjust 5 installed with that latest Beta (1.3.5.3) and this works fine, I am running El Capitan however. Let us know if your having the same issue after trying the restore, if you are then I will test this on Yosemite Jack
