    Welcome to the forums! :)

    There are many ways of doing this, I have been able to create a colour splash effect by duplicating the background layer, applying a Black and White adjustment and then simply erasing the part of the image that I want to retain its colour. 

    I have provided a very quick example here

    Other methods would involve using the Selection Brush and applying the B&W adjustment to the selected area.

    Welcome to the forums!

    This should happen automatically within the Print studio in Affinity Designer. 

    In the print studio, ensure you have selected the correct page size, then make sure you have Scale highlighted under the 'Scaling and Artboards' drop down.

    You should notice the preview shows 1 of 'X' depending on the size of the image :)
