[Black Screen/Unable to edit]

Hi, Sorry in advance if I am on the wrong thread.  I am semi new to Affinity Designer on PC.  My screen is completely black with the toolbar up top.  I am unable to edit.  I have updated the application but still can't edit.  Any suggestions on how to fix? Thanks!
