Thanks Mike, good to know it’s a bug. Unfortunately quitting the app and restarting doesn’t fix the issue for me; the floating windows reappear in full view every time. I can live with minimizing them on startup until the patch arrives, though.

Hi, I recently encountered a strange issue in Affinity Publisher 2.3.0 which I can’t seem to rid myself of. It’s difficult to describe outside the screenshot, but whenever I open Publisher there are now two empty, floating windows that refuse to close when I click the X button.
Resetting views doesn’t get rid of them. “Merge All Windows” doesn’t either. They float atop my workspace and block my view unless I minimize them to the taskbar, which is a temporary fix but won’t get rid of them. They return in full view every time I open Affinity.
Does anyone know what these windows are or how to get rid of them? Thanks!

Is this issue ever going to be addressed?

Hi @laotze,
Welcome to the forum
Can you please confirm source of the tables that you are pasting into Publisher
Hi Dwright, the source is other tables created in the same document in Publisher.

Attempting to copy and paste even small tables in Publisher 2 doesn’t work most of the time. Most often, the table appears distorted, semi-visible, and unselectable, as in the attached screenshot. They also don’t typically paste anywhere near my mouse or target location. Frequently, pasting a table just causes the app to crash. Even when a table does paste, it rarely matches the dimensions of the original table, and all its columns and rows must be manually resized.
As someone who uses Publisher heavily for TTRPG projects—which are very table-dependent—this is a major impediment to workflow. I am running the latest app version 2.0.4 on MacOS Monterey. Thanks for your time!

Ah, disabling Reopen Documents at Startup did the trick for me, actually! Floating windows are gone for the time being.
